Tapping into Lucid Dreaming for Engineering.. I have lost it.

      Hi,
Ever since i was younger i was rather well at creating beautiful machines and architectures ever since i was probably around 12. This gift i had escaped me once I experienced depression around age 16. I am now 21 and have finally started recovering from this setback and really miss my dreams. I dont want to discuss the events that caused my depression, but as of now the most important thing is that I am better and continuing to get better. I wonder sometimes if they are lossed forever, like if my mind shut it out or blocked that part of me out. I know that depression decrease ability to process memory around 12-15 percent, however , in time i strive for recovering my dreams and now, through my experiences, i hope to be better and stronger than before. If anyone could please advice me on ways to recover my dreams that have been locked away from me please any advice would be appreciated, that is the only part of me that is missing from my whole being.

P.S. I should also say that this is also a big help because I am studying electrical engineering.

Hi, your problem sounds really frustrating so I'll give you my take on a solution.

You thought up the dreams right? They're in there somewhere so keep believing you will recover the engineering dreams and eventually it will pay off. You need to realize that if those dreams are important to you they will return as long as you don't give up on them.

Also lucid dreaming might be a great medium for recovering the dreams. Also make sure from now on to keep a Dream Journal. It helps you remember your dreams so you won't forget anything you experience ever again!
(On a side note: My brother just finished up getting his electrical engineering degree and he actually had some depression issues up until recently so in a way I feel like I can almost sympathize with you. )
      Best of luck!
“When you call yourself an Indian or a Muslim or a Christian or a European, or anything else, you are being violent. Do you see why it is violent? Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind. When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence. So a man who is seeking to understand violence does not belong to any country, to any religion, to any political party or partial system; he is concerned with the total understanding of mankind.”

I know the feeling but I think its mainly because when your young our mind is more creative, so yes its partially lost. I still have wacky and weird dreams but when I was a child I was always imagining huge contraptions not any more though
