Ok, so I was bored and a bit tired so I decided to have a nap and try FILD, so I set my alarm about 3 hours ahead, however it took me an hour and a half and I still wasn't asleep, this happened the other day also, why can't I have naps?

Probably there was something bothering you? Heat, cold, noise? If you were tired, you should be able to fall asleep.
I think I named the question wrong it's more like why does it take so long to fall asleep In the afternoon, I was not too hot or not too cold, and for some of it no one was in the house
That question is very vague, I'm sorry. There could be tons of reasons.
But keep trying. I find it easier to take naps right after lunch.
To find out we have to know exactly what your eating, how much you exercise, do you take any medication, any mental or physical disorders, the conditions of your sleeping area etc etc.
