I sometimes wake up laughing, because a person in my dream told me a joke.
The joke is so funny, it actually wakes me up, but after a few mins, I realise the joke was not funny at all.

That happened to me one time, I was told something that made me laugh myself awake, but when I woke up I couldn't even remember what
it was that was said.
I do remember a dream I had years ago that still makes me laugh; I was on a stage in a desert and the sun was beating down. I was behind
a podium talking into a microphone to a small audience of about 20 people in turbans and those robe things, some higher up people in turbans
are standing to the left and right of me, then I say into the microphone with a strong voice and tone, "FREE THE CAMELS!!", and then the audience
stands up and claps and cheers and celebrates while I stand there behind the podium with my arms crossed, my chest puffed out in pride, and a
proud look on my face looking off into the distance whilst the wind blowing through my hair...seriously, what da heck :laughhard:
Yeah iv been there too, just can't remember the joke but i woke up and it felt like iv been laughing like a retard in my sleep.
I only remember one joke from my dreams when i was emptying the dishwasher with my grandpa.
Grandpa: "Want to hear a joke?"
Me: "...."
Grandpa: " Why are the fishes up at night? Because they are nordic walking."
Me and grandpa: " Ahhahahaha :D:D"

i get this a lot, although i tend not to remember the jokes after waking. i had a dream a few weeks ago where i had a spiritual epiphany over the phrase "a bug in a dress"... the dreaming mind makes connections between everything (much like the schizophrenic mind or the mind under the influence of certain drugs -- lsd and marijuana come immediately to mind) and nonsensical things can thus become intensely funny or intensely significant. (in my dream i was convinced that "a bug in a dress" was a perfect and concise description of all facets of my being and was also very witty, because a bug in a dress is an unparalleled comic image.) these distortions of our senses of discrimination are quite interesting
I asked a DC to tell me a joke once. They said if you mix beef ramen and yogurt you can make pee!
this happened recently to me. me and my friends were in a restaurant eating tomato soup, and one of my friends made an impression of a baby on the corner of a restaurant and how much he wanted tomato soup. he pronounced it in a weird way, though. like "toma-té soop" and it sounded really weird but it was really funny.
I never woke up laughing about a joke in a dream, but I've had dreams where I joked or someone joked in my dream and I'd wake up thinking about it.
Yes, many times it happens with me when I wake up laughing, but soon after waking up I forgot what the dream was. There are so many meaning of laughing in a dream depends on what we have seen. In your case, sorry to say but laughing in dream caused by a joke denotes dishonesty in real life.Quote:

Just last night I had one. I believe I woke up directly from this dream. While I was waking up, for the first few seconds of being awake, it still seemed funny. I couldn't wait to write it in my DJ and tell people because I could hardly believe my mind could come up with something so funny. But the longer I thought about it, the more I realized it wasn't funny at all.
I think it was funny due to the specific way I was thinking about it in the dream. It was really complicated, perhaps too complicated for me to grasp in real life, and that's why it was so funny. It was just so funny that the army guy was being so stupid and naive and was willing to kill for his country. But at the same time I knew he realized how stupid he was, that he was actually mocking his commander, and imitating one of those stupid nationalists perfectly. Yet he know he really needed to go to battle, so he did it, half telling the truth.... that's my attempt at trying to explain why it was funny in the dream. But even that doesn't seem to justify how funny I found it...
I'm a stand-up comedian and i have performed new material created on the spot in some of my dreams. The performance was great, i laughed, all the crowd laughed. When i woke up, i remembered the joke, and was awful. But in the dream i was so amused.
But there was one bit, with physical comedy, i made in the dream that i still think it's hilarious. I have to try in real life.
If anyone is interested, I have tried to interpret each dream, which should show how humour works in dreams. I could of course be wrong at any point.

This can be that you find something funny in life, but of course when you wake, the language of dreams goes to sleep - you are no longer in the world of symbols, and are thinking literally, so no longer get the joke.
Not that it means you no longer think it is funny.

In the desert in yourself or some experience, where nothing grows, it's harsh, and maybe the light and warmth that life should be is now beating down on you.
you announce to bring on a part of you that can deal with it, and survive in these harsh conditions.
'FREE THE CAMELS' would be a great laugh in such a situation.
But the rest of you stands up and applauds your move, cheering you on.
And you are proud of it, looking ahead to what's coming, with the movement of life blowing through your thoughts, now more able to deal with it.

Emptying the dishwasher with your grandpa might mean taking out or seeing what is cleansed in yourself after nourishment or satisfaction. Grandpa can be the more knowing part of you.
Grandpa: "Want to hear what's funny?... Why do you have ideas or more aware ideas in the dark times?'
Grandpa: "Because they are walking in the cold." or maybe "Because you feel like a fish out of water and cold."
And it's funny to you, probably not literally because fish don't normally walk, but figuratively, or in the cold of your darkness, which you may have been cleaning in yourself now, maybe they have to really grow legs to survive or get moving along!
So maybe it's like the jocularity of surviving hardship you laughed at.

= Sounds like what is ugly, undesirable, or pesty, in you dressed up to resemble beauty, the desirable, and nice - in all your facets. It's a common condition with us humans.
So just before the dream, you had a spiritual epiphany or realisation of whatever the truth of that image is, which was witty of you.
And I can see the humour in that. It's irony, where the intended meaning is opposite to the actual meaning.

= Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish.
So maybe if you mix two opposites that don't go together, you make waste.
Maybe hot and cool emotions. Or maybe you think the main meal in life can't be sweet - like work, for example.
Or maybe beef ramen is your favourite dish, and yogurt you hate. So it means mixing what you like with what you hate is wasteful.

Maybe you or one of your friends felt like they were in a corner, so acted like a baby in a weird way that was funny, like making out he he didn't understand the situation at all because he didn't know how to get out of it, and just wanted what was comfortable. That would be really funny.
This dream is a hard one though.

Running into a Boss in a dungeon in World of Warcraft Solo Taking on mobs of up to 100 all level 55 screaming "LEEEEERRROOOOYYY JJJJENNNKKINNSSSS!!!" is a classic example of "Doin' it Leeroy Jenkins Style."
= Maybe how much you had to take on in life was insane and made you crack up with laughter.

It might be you thinking of your stand up performance and hoping your perfomance will be great.
Or maybe sometimes in life you were put on the spot and tried to see the humour in it. And your perfomance was great.
So, again, once you lose the symbolic meaning, the meaning can no longer be seen.
The bit with physical comedy might be about your action on stage, making it funny, or physical comedy.
Or in real life your action was amusing, or you saw the hilarity in some of your actions.
