      Elevator Dreams

I should probably mention this before saying anything... when I was a kid, I got stuck in an elevator twice and, for the longest time, I had this crazy elevator-phobia... which was very inconvenient considering I lived on the tenth floor.

Anyway... I dream about elevators ALL THE TIME! I'm always stuck there, and it's either going up super fast (and it never stops... I know the building only has 12 floors, but the elevator keeps going up until the 90th) or it's pretty much free-falling. Either way, I'm freaking out inside.

There's only been one cool elevator dream that I can recall... after the end of the world, people had made a huge building, and I mean HUGE. Each floor was a town. The elevator could go up-down-left-right, and it was used to move from one town to another. I'm totally adding that to a story of mine in the future.

How about you guys? Any elevator dreams?

Elevators were a big part of my nightmares. I always lived in a house, but my grandmother lives in a building, in the 6th floor. Since i was a kid that going into the elevator and then through the dark hall to my grandma's house made me a little frightened. So, my dreams were exactly like yours. I enter the elevator, push a button and there i go up to a huge number of floors. When it stops and the door opens, there's always an apocalyptic scenario.
But since i discovered lucid dreaming i thank the elevators. Because it was my first dream sign. I think i posted a couple of elevator dreams here.
Everytime it passed the floor that i choose, i think: "Oh no, not again... Oh, wait. This happens only in dreams. Cool! I'm dreaming." And i take advantage of that. While the elevator is going up, i ask the dream to make me go to the place that i want to be, or to take me where it wants me too. It has been interesting. I now use elevators as a means of transportation. One of my mantras for MILD is to be in an elevator.

      Oh, that's cool!!!

I have yet to recognise elevators as a dream sign, I'm usually too scared to think straight, but if that ever happens, I'm using your strategy to get to Hogwarts!

Yes. Try it. I once asked to go to Atlantis. It didn't take me right there, but it took me to a freezing landscape (kinda like north pole) near the ocean. Maybe Atlantis was there.

One thing i found interesting. In a dream i was in this elevator and the door opened. I saw the scenario and i didn't like it. I closed the door and pushed another button. Then, 10 seconds after, the door opened again with a different scenario.
My theory was that it took those 10 seconds to build up a new scenario for me. When it was ready, the door opened.

I never got stuck in an elevator, but I do hate them. Sometimes. I do have scary dreams of them like on time it crashed and we were in a whole different world of like creepy people. Idk.

I had an elevator dream a couple of weeks ago. It came out the side of the building and, as it was hurling towards the ground, I pushed some buttons on the control panel. The elevator then started floating in the air and I sat down on a bench. There was a man and woman with me -- I told them to relax and enjoy the ride

      Nice elevator dreams guys!

I've always liked elevators but I've also always had a fear that the wires will break and it'll plummet to the ground. Recently I heard that that's not possible with modern elevators, not sure if that's true or not though, hopefully it is.

The last elevator dream that I remember was being in a birdcage like elevator with two of my family members, it would swing around violently with the smallest movement. I kept telling my sister to stop moving around so much Also It wasn't in an elevator shaft so you could see the building through the bars as it went up, which was cool. I like elevators like that in real life.

I like the idea of using elevators for transportation, i'll put that on my list of stuff to try.

I'm picturing that happening with the calm elevator music playing in the background, haha

One of my lucid dreams in 2013 went like this: I was in an elevator and a woman stepped in. I asked which floor she was going to, and she said it did not matter. Then she proceeded to start setting up a card table with a poker game on it right there in the very spacious elevator, but I had no problem with that at all (not lucid yet). I then noticed that the buttons were in the wrong order, so I did a reality check looking away and looking back at the numbered buttons, but buttons staid in same wrong order (reality check failed). Luckily I thought "Skrew that, I know I am dreaming, no matter the reality check result." And that's when the buttons did rearrange themselves, into a different wrong order. Alas, I then woke up.
You may say I'm a dreamer.

Wow. I can't recall a single elevator dream in my life. I kinda want one now. Could be used as a portal or scene change mechanism if one was proficient at summoning or happening upon elevators in lucids.

OOooo, elevators with mirrors. Now there's some potential.

I had some dreams being in the elevator with mirrors. One of the, while the elevator was moving, i began to look at my eyes in the mirror (i read this task on a forum somewhere). In another dream, while waiting, i put myself into meditation position and looked at my reflacted self.
And i also had another that when the elevator door opened, there was a "Stargate-like" portal mirror. I woke up before i could pass the portal though.

I used to have a recurring scary dream about driving into a cave (dad was driving) and going deep underground, and then taking an elevator up. LOL, as an adult I can realize this must have been an underground parking area, we probably actually had been to. So scary.

I had an elevator dream also, was a really small elevator and me and 2 others are in it, it starts ascending and keeps going and going to like a non existent 7th floor. It then plummets to the ground and I start to float as its descending at a rapid pace, then it hits the ground and I survive then it starts ascending once more. I wake up at this point.
