Cool The most dreams you've had in one night and being able to recall them

Last night I was able to recall 5 dreams. I had 6 dreams in total but i can't remember what my 5th dream was about. I waited til my last dream to write all of them down. I shouldn't have done that but I was too tired.

I have read that we can have somewhere from 5 to 7 dreams in one night but I was curious to know if anyone has exceeded the limits.
      Has anyone ?

If anyone has had more than 7 dreams in one night and has been able to recall them please let me know in this thread.
It doesn't matter if they were non-lucid or lucid. Last night all of mine were non-lucid dreams.
Thanks to anyone who can help me find the answer on this one.

I've only been DJing for a couple of months and my dream recall's pretty eh (lol I'm a lazy DJer) but last night I broke my own record and recalled 5 dreams + a fragment. People have exceeded these limits more than once, I know there's a member on here who managed to recall 17 dreams in one night with some special tricks (gaah, for the life of me I can't remember their username).

      edit: it was StaySharp.

Depends on how you define dream vs scene change. I'd count my longest DJ entry on this site as having 11 dreams in it, including the fragments; but you could also call it 7 + a fragment, or 15, depending on how you're counting.

If a scene changes, and now you've got a different setting, different characters, different POV, but it's still continuing the same theme in some way - is that one dream or two? Or if you've got a bunch of scenes in a row with the same characters, but about completely unrelated events - is that all one dream?

Last night I recall 5 separate, vivid dreams with detailed plots and some thinking involved. Very happy. I also woke up a lot last night, that's why I think I recalled that many. And I wrote them down in my DJ that's next to my pillow.

I believe, that we have lots more drams then what we recall.

I never really thought of that Carabas. The way I was defining it was having a dream with scene changes included. I woke up 6 times last night. I had a dream before each one of those times. I only had one dream that scene changed. If I was counting them the way you are counting them, then I had 7 dreams but only wrote down 6 in my DJ that's next to me on my bed.
Before you put that in my mind I would count a dream with scene changes as one. I wonder if there is a thread on that.

Thank you Maxis! For posting his username. He has a lot of threads I found useful. I'm going to implement his ideas into my daily routine. I would be more than happy to achieve 17 dreams in one night. That's something I thought was impossible until today.

When I'm well rested and motivated and set intention to remember my dreams and to wake up a lot (either by "I wake up after every dream," or once when that wasn't working "I wake up every 2 hours"), I recall a lot. I've reached around 17 before: for example, 4 wakings with 4 distinct dream/scenes in a night. I think that as we get better at dream recall the dream count drops because we realize that multiple different scenes were all from a single dream. Just a few days ago I had one of the longest continuous multi-scene dreams ever, about 8 different scenes moving in and around a fictional friend's house on a hill and subjectively about 15-20 minutes long.

So I totally agree with gab: waking up a lot is the key to remembering a lot -- it really shows very clearly that we do dream all night long, we just forget it.

My best recall was 11 dreams in one night - 9 of them vivid and full-length dreams and 2 fragments. In 3 other nights I managed to recall 8, but at the moment I am averaging at 2-6 dreams/night that I can recall depending on motivation, the time of sleep and stress. Usually most of them are vivid and reasonably long, but there are some fragments as well. There were a few more nights in which I was able to recall 11, but I think some of them were fragments from within the same dreams.
Actually I think that we have even more than 11 dreams/night if we get a decent amount of sleep so I probably never managed to recall every single dream of a night.

My best so far is 4 dream in a night(twice at different nights), but the first dream chain was epic. You can read it at my DJ. Basically i wrote down over 1000 words describing the dreams. And all of those dreams were vivid and very good quality and interesting content.

I've had about 25 dreams in one night before. Remembered about 20. Was lucid in 13, I think. But then, some of these dreams were WILD's... and so it was very easy to have so many if I end up having a short WILD, then wake up, then WILD again...

This is ridiculous I would be happy to at least recall one normal dream and one lucid dream a night, but 20, MY GOD...

Looking through my journal, I started with a fragment and as time went by, I was able to remember more and more. A few nights ago I was able to remember a page and a half worth of 2 dreams. Pretty good stuff, I think
