Dreams that have a scary theme, but don't feel like nightmares

I used to have a lot of nightmares that really scared me. Now my nightmares are few in between, and usually have to deal with false awakenings and feeling my REM atonia, when before they had more of a plot.

While more often, what I do dream about seem like they could be categorized as nightmares, because they have scary themes like murder in them, but they are really just more like watching a movie. I don't wake up scared at all. Often times these dreams I'm not even dreaming in the perspective of myself, but instead in the perspective of a different character, or 3rd perspective watching a group of characters. After I wake up from the dream I often want to continue it because I don't feel like it's over, and sometimes do by going back to sleep. Perhaps it's influenced from watching dramas and movies.

Does anyone else also have dreams that aren't really nightmares and you don't feel scared from?

Most of my dreams aren't scary, but seem like there's a scary presence around me.

Lucid dreams make your dreams come true!!

I have similar things quite often. Unless you are disconcerted in your waking life, I don't see how it might be a something to be concerned about. A lot of my dreams also feel like the dream isn't over when I wake up, but it may be less that and more because my dreams take place in coherent, alternate worlds of sorts. I guess one should ask: do you find your dreams disconcerting when you wake up?

Not at all, I really like these kinds of dreams and the lingering feeling they give. I like to write fiction and follow stories, so I guess it kind of gives that same feeling. It's exciting to be engaged in a story.

Then one would think to just find it another enjoyable experience, perhaps, even if the topics may not be enjoyable according to society's demands. At least that's my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I don't think anything's wrong with it, just interesting.
