      Has anyone else experienced this?

So, for a while now, perhaps a few months, I've had these moments where it's like I will myself out of dreaming. For example, yesterday morning I woke up a bit late; I was supposed to wake up at 5 AM, but around 6 AM I suddenly realized I was dreaming, but not in a good way. It was so quick, but it seemed unnatural. I suddenly thought to myself "I'm asleep, and I need to wake up," and I woke up. It happens a lot, but I never get a chance to become lucid, it's like I just become immediately awake. But for that split second, I know I'm dreaming and that I need to wake up. I was wondering if anyone else does this a lot, and if there is any way I can transform this weird habit into a good habit that can induce lucid dreams?

When you want to get out of a bad dream or an uninteresting dream without waking up fully, try turning something in your current dream into something else or make something happen instead of telling yourself to wake up. For example if there is an object in your dream, take note of it. Say there is a door, try talking to yourself and say "this is a door, I wounder where it leads" then visualize yourself reaching out and opening the door. Just an example. Good luck. You might also post this in the dream control section for more experienced LDers to help you with it.
