How come I can't dream about my fictional character no matter how much I think of him

Bonjour and Konichiwa. How is your day and dream? I've been longing to discuss this matter with the users here but the butterfly tend to fly around in my stomach. I hope you don't mind me asking this though.
So my problem here is like the title implies. My sole purpose of joining DV is to dream about Lynx from Chrono Cross only. This guy made of paper and pen really makes me gone crazy. It doesn't matter if it is lucid dream or common dream as long as I get to witness and touch him in my dream. I always hope and think about him everytime I hit my pillow(to sleep).
No matter how much I try, he just too stubborn to come into my dream or should I say my brain is the one who is stubborn here. I tend to dream about something that I don't really care about. I manage to dream about other anime and video game characters but this Lynx just never appeared at all. I too always dreaming about my school and teachers which I don't want to recall at all due to bad experiences there. I did try the techniques that were given from the users here before to lucid dreaming of him but still hard to accomplish. I need more help in order to dream of him even in a common dream. Can you users help me here? Much appreciated. Merci and arigato.

You sound like me. One of my main goals whether lucid or not is to dream of my own characters.
I may not have walked right up to them in my dreams I have had a few where I have seen and/or mentioned 2 of my most self-known OCs. In truth they only appeared after I stopped trying as hard as you, I do have them on my mind daily since I use them in roleplays, stories, and my art.

I suggest just be patient and don't try too hard. Try to make it seem like you and Lynx are best friends, hanging out all the time. (that's how it is with me and my OCs. my fursona which is my main OC is best friends with my other OCs. I think of one or the other when I'm in a jam in real life or in a roleplay.) It's like having an imaginary friend. ^^

But then again that's how I've gotten mine to show up, by 'befriending' them. Something else might work for you.

And sorry if I made no sense. My words turn out different when written or typed than how they were in my head. XD

It's ok. Thanks for the tips! I am not into furry but when I do I try to dream about him as best as I can. Seriously, he's the only furry that is so sexy. Others just don't work for me at all. It's going to be hard to not think about him often though because I am desperate to dream about him. I am still wondering why something that I hate to recall always happened in my dreams often. Is it due to my subconscious mind thingy keep thinking about the thing I hate without me realize about it? I just want one same dream ever and of course it would be impossible. Again, thank you MeannCat. ^^
Still, I am hoping for some more discussion and tips about this if you or other users don't mind to share.

      You're welcome. ^^

If you like him so much and always have him on your mind, then you probably already have a dream about him. You just don't remember.

(BTW I'm a furry fan too. my OCs I was talking about are an anthro porcupine and anthro bat, both are wonderful though after one certain dream I don't want to see the porcupine ever again in a dream. -_- )

I find this pretty tricky as well. The best approach, from personal experince, is to not even try a direct conjuring of a DC. Rather have a set of differenct approaches ready, so you can apply whatever suites the dream.
      In no particular order;

Expectation. Rationalize the DC to be very close by, like just next door or right behind you.

Transport yourself to where you 'know' the person will be; fly, walk, teleport or whatever you can manage/prefer.

Make the DC come to you; command a DC to bring you the character.

Associate your way to the DC. Meaning that you pick a characteristic trait of the appearance and focus on it mentally, and let the schema build the rest.

Transform a random DC to the character you want.

Personally I find transporting myself to the character to be the easiest.. and that can still seem pretty hard. I did once pass a TV where I flipped through the channels to find the channel with the DC on it. I then jumped through the screen into the scene right next to the DC.
My point is, try your way but have many options to choose from

Wow, you remind me so much of how I was 7 years ago. I still have a ridiculous crush on Claire Bennet from Heroes. It's not going away. But one thing did change: I stopped trying to find her. I got so obsessive about trying to find her and bend her to my will, the dream resisted. She just refused to appear. Since I've given up, she appears more and more - when she feels like it.

My point is, perhaps you should take a break from trying to find him. He'll appear, sooner or later. Let him come to you.
      Current projects:
      -Acquire the Aurora
      -Test galatamine, huperzine and choline
-Find smartwatch app for RC reminders at certain intervals
-Ressurect my dream log here, and become more active
