Dream inspired poetry?
Hey guys, long time no see.
Just wondering if anyone else is interested in reading/writing poetry, specifically dream inspired poetry.
If you do enjoy writing then why not try it out? Write a short poem inspired by one of your dreams, lucid or not.
Heres one I wrote, titled 'Wedding Vowels' -
A river cuts through an open field
the Moon rolls down the stream
like the child’s paper boat
A woman sits at the riverbank
dressed in white silk
her husband floats past
his skin blue like denim
he turns his rotting head
parts his dead lips
and smiles for his bride

Interesting, and that was inspired by a dream? Did the dream actually play out just the way you wrote the poem? I had one dream that had me writing what could have been either a song or a long Hallmark card type of message that was supposed to be given to my or anyones son. It has been many years since i had this dream but i remember that i knew the words from the dream for 3 consecutive days but failed to write them down since they were so clear in my head. Then the memory of those words faded away. I remember listening to a rock station 2 to 3 weeks later and they were giving some info on an artist, who i cant remember, who dreamt about a song and actually wrote it down and it turned out to be a hit. I wish i would have just written it down like i write my DJ's now. It would have been interesting to look back and see what it says.
