How do I stop being a bad boy in my dreams?

Today I had a weird, crazy dream; very big and bulky one as well, lots of meaningful things happened. Basically, I had a spell cast on me by an old witch (within the dream), which made me slip into a super long dream that was supposed to be a lucid dream. Long story short, I seemed to be lucid from the point of view of dream 1, but not from the point of view of my awake consciousness.

It was a weird dream - probably the most interesting dream I've ever had - and I was actually going to make a thread to see if people had had similar experiences, but the one thing that got me thinking from that dream was how the fearlessness of being aware in a dreaming state, the subconscious actions of someone who's not lucid at all, and the lack of that inhibition of waking up when too excited during a lucid dream, gave me plenty of time to think how I behaved, and I honestly didn't like it. I'm not an angel in my normal dreams (non lucid ones), I'm not a complete jackass either, but there are some things that I hate about the dream me; this was completely different though, it was about ten times worst; I WAS a complete jackass, the kind of jackass I would probably punch in the face if I could.

This is how I woke up from the dream: At some point in the dream I found four girls (maybe slightly younger than me), and they were pretty. I, being on a lucid rampage, immediately chased two of them I particularly liked out of pure lust. This went on for several scenes, and they looked really scared every time. At one point I chased the blonde one down a flight of stairs, and even dreaming she was faster than me; I wasn't even running any more, I was just like a black shroud flying after her, but she was always faster, and I couldn't use my dream powers to catch her. She locked herself in a room at the bottom, and said she was going to end me by casting a spell that would make me wake up; sure enough, after the spell, I felt myself being pulled into dream 1 consciousness; shortly after I woke up for realsies.

I can think of many other instances of me mistreating people, especially women, and animals, and generally doing things - mean things - I don't even think about or wish doing when I'm awake, in dreams in some way, and I get kind of sad about that, because I feel like I sometimes turn possibly pleasant dreams into nightmares full of complications and troubles and conflicts with these attitudes.

So yeah, I'm looking for advice on this basically. I want to stop being Hyde in my dreams; I'm not like that when I'm awake, and I never wished to be - not consciously, at the very least - I'm happy, and I like who I am. Maybe I could target problems like these one at a time and then write a hundred times 'I shall not be mean to pretty women in my dreams', or something like that.

I think those 2 paragraphs are the answer to your question. I may be wrong, but I believe that sometimes dreams make us do things that we would never do in waking life. They do this to show us how we would feel (or react) if we really did something. So this way we get to do things and experience how we feel after that without any real consequences.

When you say you want to stop this by writing hundreds of time as for punishment [I shall not be mean...]. I don't think you need to, because dream had already done it for you. Just by dreaming that scenario, now you know that if you done it in waking life, you would feel like crap.

I am an animal lover. But dream had me hurt animals before. Some were years ago and I still shudder at the thought of it. That just reinforced my feelings towards the subject.

On the other hand, some dreams empower us. Like my recent one. Somebody was hurting me (he was trying to kill me, actually). Suddenly my subconscius dreaming mind took my hand and beat the guy who was hurting me to the pulp. This made me feel good, because now I know that I don't have to take abuse but I can stand up for myself and fight for my life instead of just take it and save my life instead of just hoping that I will not get hurt more or killed.

So even if some dreams upset us, I think they are on our side, our ally. Helping us by showing different situations and scenarios and we can try different ways of reacting to those scenarios and figure out which one is morally the best one. Or which one will keep us alive.

I just want to add, that main thing is if you want to do bad things in waking life. If not, and you say you do not, then I would say you are ok. They just reinforce your idea of morals and human decency.

If you would like to do bad things in WL and you also dream about them, then I would think it's time to re-evaluate your values. But this doesn't seem to be your case : D

My frame of reference for interpreting dreams is different than many others. So before I get to my thoughts on your lucid dream/dream here's what I've learnt:
Here is a short summary of what my dreams have taught me:
1. All our "other" many lives exist at the same time
• Our old ideas of sequential re-incarnation are driven by our old concepts of time
2. For each live, for any given moment, an almost unlimited number of probable realities also exist at the same time
3. There is no one beginning, middle and ending of our lives
• We select a probable moment to make our new present moment. This is the “illusion” of time. Everything seems to be “progressing” based on “time” but, it’s not.
4. “We” are the effective sum of the path we selected via all our probable moment choices and,
• “We” are also part of our greater self, which is the sum of not only ‘our’ life but also all the other probable lives we didn’t choose in our life and,
• Our greater self is also the sum of all our “other” lives (which includes all versions of the probable live choices) and,
• Our greater self is also part of a “greater self”, which is also part of a “greater self” etc.
5. There is no real division between each of us, our other lives, our greater self and their greater selves. The apparent division is simply caused by our 3D focus.
6. There is continual communication between us in our incarnation, our other probable lives, our other lives and our greater self via our etheric body (and other ways which I don’t know about).
7. Before we incarnate, we carefully select our personality.
• This is done by selecting about 200 different energy beliefs
• Each belief is, in effect, an energy filter
• Each belief has two polarities
• We select the degree of a certain polarity for each belief which then creates a specific energy vibration
• Each energy belief vibration then interacts, moment to moment, with the other vibrations
• The accumulative beliefs, we spiritually “wear” (i.e. a “belief suit”), then helps generate our own thoughts and emotions at each present moment
• The “belief suit” effectively filters what energy communication from the greater reality that gets through to our conscious mind
8. One of our goals in each incarnation is to learn that we are more than we really are and,
• To recognize the limitations of our existing “belief suits” each of us wears
9. Many of the same beliefs each of us selects for a given incarnation are shared by some of our other lives. However, they are often expressed differently.
• We can learn about this from our dreams where our other lives who share the same underlying beliefs will frequently show up in rooms we are in
• Each room is a “belief compartment” which is a symbol of multiple beliefs interacting to produce certain “belief effects”
• As one spiritually learns to listen to oneself, then one finds that rooms begin to empty and we are more and more “outside” in our dreams instead of “indoors”
10. So what’s the purpose of our existence?
• It’s to show that we have learnt something new about compassion
• Note the absence of it is also important to learn about

So to your dream/lucid dream experience...

Who are the people in your dream? Its been my own experience in my dreams that people may be one of the following:
* Themselves
* Symbols of my feminine or masculine
* Aspects of myself
* Teachers
* Guides
* Probable me's
* Other lives
* People I incarnate with many times

So how's a person to tell who's who in what I call the dream zoo? They have to learn to listen to themselves. That's what meditation has done for me. I simply access my higher self, ask the question and now I know.

For the moment, let's assume the girls you are chasing are some of your other lives. Why then are you chasing them? Why not select other lives where you are a male instead?

This brings me to the heart of dreams. It's about us learning about our inner beliefs we create to form our personality. Our outer world we live in is created by these very beliefs, literally every moment. These beliefs cause us to do things like create what I call command/control surface level belief effects. Examples of this include the use of money, competition, physical force, views of men and women and our ideas of sex et al.

So, given this, here's what I'm suggesting to you...in this life you've given yourself a challenge of integrating many, likely thousands, of your other lives. in these lives you were both what I call a "Controller" and a "Controlee". You were many, many, many different people who did many, many, many different things. Some things you did were good, nice, advancements, etc. Others were not so nice. In some of these lives you were the raper and in other the victim. In some you were the killer and in others the victim.

So if what I've said above has intrigued you, then I suggest the following for you...

* Read the story about the multiverse I created on my website. This is a way of depicting the frame of reference above in a easy to read story form
* Then read the dream discussion paper. That's what I use to interpret my dreams and those of hundreds of people every year (for free)
* Read some of the interpretations I've done on this dream discussion board. You'll see how I try hard to let people know more about the framework for their dream and leave them with enough information they can then begin to work away at future dreams on their own.

The bottom line...NOTHING IS IN A DREAM OR LUCID DREAM BY ACCIDENT. From the number of people you chased, going up and down, rooms at the bottom and not the top, casting spells, etc. All of it is a language teaching us about ourselves.

I hope that some of what I've written above resonates within you.

It seems you became aware or lucid, of this old curse.
But not clear in your consciousness, not seen or addressed properly.

Remember these do not literally represent girls.
Perhaps your darkness takes over, like lust or thoughtless desire, and shrouds your better self or the light inside you, which drags you down while indicating what is deeper within.
It's like you wanted to chase that light away. But you can't. You can't be more powerful either. Perhaps you lust after its pure beauty.
It scares you.

So the light locked inside you at the bottom says it's going to end you by waking you up, making you aware.
That will start to give you the control you saw you want, over the negative. Rather than the subconscious actions of someone who's not lucid at all.
So Hyde might be your dark side in life we all have. Not necessarily badness in you, just its existence. Like fears, doubts, failure. Such stuff can turn one on himself.
Perhaps it's the part of you that wants to do just what you want. That is what Hyde did.

On the other hand, is this just about lucid dreaming giving you the power of no consequences that goes against reality so is a wake up call?>

I get it, but still, it's kind of frustrating when it happens again and again and again. As I said, I can remember of several instances where I was a complete jackass in my dreams, and they never failed to make me feel bad; I get it, brain, geez.
