      What did my dream mean?

      Hi guys,

I am new here but I joined to ask if anyone knew what my dream I had last night and ok the recent past means.

Basically for the last year I have been having dreams about a teacher I used to get on really well with when I was a teenager. When I was a teenager I was going through a really tough time and I told her a secret and then the police were involved and she supported me through the court case & took me under her wing as it were in school. Anyway she died in July 2013 from breast cancer. Anyway for the last year some nights I have been dreaming about her. It's random each time. Like last night I dream we were walking down my high school cooridoor and talking about stuff and then some other random things happened with her in the dream. It's random each time. I don't recognise any messages from her. It's just random conversations each time. Does anyone know why I am dreaming about this? It's nice cos she looks the same like she was healthy and no ok her sick.

Plus last night I dreamt of my sister. She died in September 2013 she 16. But in my dream last night she was about 11 years old. In my dream we were sat down and she said Claire you got two babies in your tummy. Then obviously the teacher who passed came into the dream & then after the teacher left the dream I started feeling contraction pain in my dream then my sister said told ya and then I woke up.

I don't understand cos I can't have children cos I have a genetic illness and I wouldn't wanna pass it on to any off spring but why did that happen in my dream? Why was my sister saying that and why did I feel contraction pain?

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Many thanks,

      Claire.

      Hi Claire,

It looks like your teacher who was very kind and helped you so much is meant to symbolize something inside yourself that is still “alive” even though your teacher herself unfortunately died.

So her image in your dreams probably represents a kind of ongoing “saving grace” which will always help you with special feelings and intuitions etc. about what the best thing to do is in difficult situations etc.

Your sister who also unfortunately died seems to be a similar helpful part of yourself.

Of course, they could also symbolize the spirits of your teacher and sister.

Your sister tells you in the dream that you’re going to have twins and your teacher also appeared. When she leaves, your contractions began.

The birth of babies in dreams symbolizes the “birth” of new ideas, projects, attitudes, feelings and other potentials etc.

For instance, some kind of opportunity might have recently appeared, or you had a vague idea or plan to try something, but you didn’t pay very much attention to it or follow it up.

If so, the dream might possibly be encouraging you to look more carefully at some new path to follow etc. that might come along.

The idea that you’re having twins might mean that there could be, as often happens, two sides to any such situation.

For example, you immediately have contraction pains just after the prediction by your sister that you’re going to have twins.

This might possibly mean that, just like with having babies, there could be some pain involved in taking on a new challenge etc., but later, there can be a feelings of a lot of satisfaction as your new “babies” grow.

Anyway, I hope that these ideas can help in some way to decipher your dream.

I quite like the interpretation above, babies seem to be a universal symbol of new beginnings (obviously). However there is something quite crucial which you missed. Her sister was 11 in the dream so this gives the biggest clue as to what the dream is actually about, details like this in a dream are usually very significant. Claire, what particular event or memory do you have of your sister when she was 11? This will give you a bigger clue as to what the dream is telling you. Also the fact you often dream of your teacher could well be a way of saying this is a learning moment. The message I feel is being said at the end of the dream is to believe something you think is not possible IS possible, you just have to be open to it.
