More interested in regular dreams than lucid dreams

I've started to kinda lose interest in lucid dreaming, and regular dreams seem just fine, trying lucid dreaming techniques can be such a chore. And sometimes I just want to rest, I tend to have pretty vivid dreams and that seems fine to me. Whenever I go lucid I usually just go havok or can't control the dream and they kinda run out of steam, but I like dreaming, they are like adventures without leaving your bed, and I try to keep my dream journals active.

What I'm trying to said is that I like dreaming and that's just good enough for me, if they end up being lucid. that's just a bonus.

Lucid dreaming is an activity to me, sorta like reading. I do the reading challenge on Goodreads, so I have a minimum of books I have to read in a year. So sometimes, I go on a reading marathon and read one book a day for three weeks. And sometimes, when I'm on schedule, I read whenever I feel like reading.

Both are fun and I enjoy them.

Lucid dreaming is the same to me. Sometimes, I just wanna go to bed, relax and let my mind take me wherever it wants to take me. And sometimes I feel determined to take control.

So you do you. If you feel like sitting back, then that's fun. If after a while you feel like lucid dreaming again, which admittedly requires WAY more effort, then you know what to do.

The important thing is that you do what you want to do, no pressure from anyone.

Nonlucid dreams are pretty cool on their own. LDs are great because of the extra opportunities and control they afford you. But it's okay to relax and take a break from time to time. Occasionally LDs occur “for free” even when you're not actively trying for one at the moment.

It's kind of like choosing between watching TV and playing a video game; sometimes you just want to sit there and relax and take it in, but other times you're feeling more energetic and want to play an active, personal role in what's taking place.
