      Was it LD or SP?

      Hello dear forum!

I'm not so experienced in this field and now a bit confused about what really happened (sleep paralysis or lucid dream).
Anyway it was unpleasant and now stops me to go on. May be if I know exactly what it was, It will be easer to overcome? Please, help me figure it out.

I started exploring lucid dreams from Stephen Laberge's book and discovered lots of techniques. Tried some of them, but "inspire myself"(when you believe that now you will get LD for sure) was the most successful for me. I was at home ALONE, told myself that now I'm gonna succeed and, now the dream itself: (all written below belongs to dream, not real life)

I woke up from the fact, that something pulled me out from my body and I found myself in the darkness, but in a few seconds I was pushed back with force(inside my body) and now I found my self in already sitting position. All actions was in my room, no details(of room) were changed. I stood up and felt a very strong pressure, but I didn't pay much attention on that. I came to the window and something touched my back. I was scared, didn't turn around and flew out of the room. In a few seconds I finally woke up.
This dream is different from others, because in usual dreams I just realize that I am sleeping, when it is already going, not from the very beginning. But it is also different from SP, because I was not paralyzed and could move and there wasn't any scary sounds or noises, I didn't feel any presence.

      Hey! Welcome to DV!

Well like you said, it wasn't sleep paralysis.

If you fell asleep and remained conscious right into the dream, this is called a WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream).
Your usual way, when you realize it's a dream whilst in-dream, that is called a DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream).

WILDs can be weird, first time. Because there is usually some sort of transition from being awake, to being in a dream, it can feel really weird.

And when we get scared, the dream generates things to be afraid of. So, to avoid scary things from happening, keep a positive mindset.

slash112, thank you for your reply. You really helped me very much.
It's a bit surprising to get so advanced WILD from the beginning . It seems to me that I'm not such a bad in lucid dreaming . Unexplored things usually scare, but the more we get familiar with it, the more it will be common to us. I have just decided not to give up and continue lucid dreaming.

      Fantastic!

And WILD isn't necessarily advanced. Everyone has different abilities. Sometimes WILD is easier, sometimes DILD is easier.
I go through phases of being better at DILD, and phases of being better at WILD.

But yeah, exactly, the more you explore your consciousness, the more you will be at-ease about it.
