Real-life Physical Pain After Pain In A Dream

I saw threads about this subject but they were all quite old so I decided to make a new one.

Last night I had quite vivid lucid dreams. At some point I remember someone or something biting me (in the dream). I don't recall it very well and it wasn't a significant part of the dream but it happened. When I woke up I soon realized that I felt pain on my arm, right were I was bitten in the dream. I could feel the exact spot when I touched it. It wasn't as severe as in the dream (thought I can't remember very well) but it was aching. I read on the internet quickly that others have experienced this too BUT only for maybe a minute... However, I still feel the pain even thought it's been HOURS. It faded away a little at some point but it came back when I was writing this.

I got curious: how many of you have experienced real pain after dream pain? Like, is it common and does it happen to everyone or just some? How bad has it been (I got worried that I would feel extreme pain because of a dream someday) and how long has it lasted? Is it known why this happens?

I think that the dream pain was based on real pain that happened while you were dreaming. It is possible to be conscious of our sleeping enviornment during a dream and for the dream to be influenced by this conciousness. The fact we are more conscious of our sleeping enviornment while we are awake than in a dream explains why the pain was more severe upon awakening. Real pain would also explain why the pain has persisted so long. What the real pain was caused by, I'm not sure. Maybe your arm was fixed in an awkward position while you were dreaming.

Interesting answer. The real pain coming first is surely a possibility I didn't think of, but I still don't think it was like that. I doubt my younger siblings would bite me in my sleep. I do have a really faint memory of laying on my bed when someone/something bit me but I think it was a FA as I was just waking up. The entity was dark by the way. Also, I don't know if you read something wrong or if it's because I'm not a native speaker but the pain was actually more severe in the dream and not in reality.

Did someone bite or hurt you in life? A partner?
Or is it your right ability that is hurting, perhaps in some situation, maybe with another or regarding that idea?
Anyway, you could feel the exaxt spot, that aches. But maybe the dream or fear is more severe than reality.

I don't think that anything hurt me in real life, but I might be wrong of course. Sorry, I didn't really understand what else you wrote. I still don't know what happened back then. Maybe I have problems distinguishing reality from fantasy? Or I expected my arm to hurt? Who knows, not me
