It might make you feel better to realize that it's one of the most common dreams. Everybody has that one from time to time, and sometimes has it frequently as you are. Finding you're naked in public means that you feel people can see through your cover - they can see what makes you tick, what you wish you could hide from them. It could possibly mean you're engaging in some kind of behavior you shouldn't and you're afraid people are going to find out or might already know, or it could mean someone in your life is being too nosy or inquiring into your life too deeply. There may be other possibilities - really it refers to a sense that you're exposed, that you've been revealing too much without realizing it. Not sure what to make of the fact that it's set in your church - there could be several reasons for that. It could just be because that's a place you visit regularly where you hope to be seen as a good and virtuous person, so I can see where a church setting would add some extra impact to that dream. Or it might just be because it's a familiar environment. You'd need to think about it for a while, what it means to be in that church, or what it would mean to you to be exposed there in front of all those people and in front of God.

What do the little kids symbolize in my first post at the top?

I suppose it depends on how they react to seeing you like that, or what the whole situation is. If you could explain one of the dreams in more detail I might be able to figure it out a lot better. But just from what you've said, assuming they're just sort of there and not doing anything specific like laughing or mocking or anything, I would say their presence is just to add to the sense of humiliation and of being revealed in public. Children are innocent (well, not all of them, but I mean they're often thought to represent innocence). So I would think it gives even more of a sense of being exposed in front of the full public, even the children. I guess children being exposed to anything that seems nasty or wrong is worse than adults being exposed to it, so it would tend to make you feel worse to dream of children being there. Keep in mind this is mostly guesswork, just thinking in general here. It could be to increase your sense of guilt, as if your being exposed in front of them is a sin or does them harm.

Hey, it really is common for this to happen. Not wearing clothes been a lucidity trigger for me as well. My very first lucidity trigger ever was actually noticing my shirt was gone while sitting in a church I went to during childhood. I wasn't completely naked, but it was similar. I've even read in books that wearing odd or no clothes is an often occurrence in dreams. I understand that the way your dreams are unfolding is unpleasant for you, though.

This is just an idea, but maybe you could use that happening in your dreams as a lucidity trigger to become lucid. If that works then you could even try asking your dreaming mind why that is happening or ask what it means. Have you had lucid dreams before?

Only a few times. It happens every now and then when my mind wakes up out of the blue.I think in lucid dream talk it's called a DILD.

Yeah, that would be a DILD. If this is something that is really concerning you, trying to set an intention to use that as a lucidity trigger might really help. If you become aware that it's all just a dream maybe you can confront and/or change the situation.

And yeah, feeling exposed in front of people that young in a dream where you think it is waking life sounds very unpleasant, especially where they are paying attention to you not having clothes on. I am sorry you're struggling with this, but I do think there are ways you can overcome it.

How recurrent is this type of dream for you? Also, have you practiced in induction techniques before or intention techniques for LDing?

That's actually another common thing, if you have a dream that upsets you or somehow really gets your attention in a big way, you'll dwell on it and that makes it show up again for a while.

When DILD has worked for you, at what point during these dreams have you become lucid or aware that you're dreaming? Or did you become lucid in other dreams before these dreams started happening?

It could be helpful to try the MILD technique to become lucid. It has a very high success rate in helping people become lucid. Another thing to try before you're falling asleep is to try to visualize as vividly as possible this dream scenario happening, but change it where you become lucid in the dream and change it in a way that you wish.

Here are the MILD instructions as written by Laberge. There are simlilar tutorials on this forum that are really good too.

      "MILD Technique

      1. Set up dream recall:
Before going to bed resolve to wake up and recall dreams during each dream period throughout the night (or the first dream period after dawn, or after 6: 00 a. m. or whenever you find convenient).

      2. Recall your dream:

When you awaken from a dream period, no matter what time it is, try to recall as many details as possible from your dream. If you find yourself so drowsy that you are drifting back to sleep, do something to arouse yourself.

      3. Focus your intent:
While returning to sleep, concentrate single-mindedly on your intention to remember to recognize that you’re dreaming. Tell yourself: ““Next time I’m dreaming, I want to remember I’m dreaming.” Really try to feel that you mean it. Narrow your thoughts to this idea alone. If you find yourself thinking about anything else, just let go of these thoughts and bring your mind back to your intention to remember.

      4. See yourself becoming lucid:
At the same time, imagine that you are back in the dream from which you have just awakened, but this time you recognize that it is a dream. Find a dreamsign in the experience; when you see it say to yourself: ““I’m dreaming!” and continue your fantasy. For example, you might decide that when you are lucid you want to fly. In that case, imagine yourself taking off and flying as soon as you come to the point in your fantasy that you ““realize” you are dreaming.

      5. Repeat:
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until your intention is set, then let yourself fall asleep. If, while falling asleep, you find yourself thinking of anything else, repeat the procedure so that the last thing in your mind before falling asleep is your intention to remember to recognize the next time you are dreaming."

If this is something you want to keep working on, developing your prospective memory is helpful in aiding successfully executing the MILD technique. If you're not already familiar with prospective memory, I can elaborate on that if you're interested.

And what Darkmatters says is very true. Blowing it up in your mind can potentially cause it to stick around and exacerbate.

It's good to keep in mind that we can't really help what our dreaming mind dreams up, and to not be too hard on youself for whatever happens to arise. We all have dreams that seem weird or make you think, "Why in the world did my mind go there?!"

Never underestimate the power of your subconscious. Your mind can do some funky things in your dreams. If you are like me, the more I think about something like this the more likely I'll dream it.
1.) What did you do before you went to bed?
2.) Do you have something coming up?
3.) Did something happen in your past that may have been a factor?
Like everyone else has said, it's a very common thing. We all have had dreams like that. It happens to the best of us. You could go lucid and make your clothes reappear. Or you could try making them naked in a dream. Or making everyone blind. I don't know.
For me, sometimes, not all the time but, sometimes, when I'm having one of those dreams where you grow into a giant, my clothes in the dreams don't grow with my ever-growing body mass and I end up being naked in a larger scale. I had to learn to make new clothes appear on my body. You know, it can be less embarrassing if you realize they are only part of your subconscious and not really people you know in real life.

Are you looking for a prophetic omen? Or a spiritual interpretation? If you looking for us to say that you are going to hell, I don't think you are going to Hell.

Things you may want to consider:
1.) Do you feel like you are not getting enough attention in real life?
2.) Consider the way you get ready for bed.
3.) When you say there is no reason why that this is happening, then why are you worried in the first place? I mean unless you are doing something are causing yourself in your waking life, (like cheating on someone) to think that you are going to be found out then why are you worried?
4.) Did you get bullied in school? Sometimes something in your waking like will cause to dream of past events.
Many completely capable people engage in hypocritical, self-judgmental thinking and sometimes this kind of dreams cause the result. While most of the interpretations of dream nudity seem less than pleasant, it is important to keep in mind that most dreams are not prophetic omens. Dreams are indications of how the psyche is interpreting events in waking life. They reveal how one feels about one's life, and these perceptions are not always accurate.
Because according to sleep scientists, the continuity hypothesis of dreams suggests that dreams are an extension of our waking lives.
Concerns and ideas you think about on a daily basis will often manifest themselves in your dreams. While the descriptions above may give you some idea of what being nude in a dream means, the best way to truly form an understanding of your dreamscape is to search within for the emotional and psychological context of your dreams. k

When I first started having the naked in public dreams they used to freak me out pretty much, but as time went on and I realized they really don't mean anything special and are just normal things everybody dreams, it became no big deal. Now if I notice I'm naked I'm just like "Oh ok, this again?" And it makes me realize I'm dreaming, so you don't have to worry about anything that happens, because it's all just a dream.

I mean, it COULD mean one of those things I mentioned above, that you feel guilty about something or that you think somebody is prying too much into your private life, but it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Often people just feel exposed in general, it's pretty normal human stuff. If it does mean one of those things, then that's useful to know because that's something you can fix in waking life just by changing your behavior or your living arrangements or something. But if you don't think it's one of those things then you've got nothing to worry about and it's just pointless dream stuff.

The same applies to some of the other nightmares out there.

This is just a thought. For some of us it could be that nude dreams originate and are carried over at times into the dream state initially because we are nude in waking life at various times throughout a 24-hour period. We remember these states and they arise in our dreams like many other things that happen during our daily lives. When we shower, we're nude while doing so. The same goes for sleep for some of us. So if we go to sleep naked, that's the last memory or awareness of ourselves we carry to the dream world. Then as it happened you found it disturbing and now it is popping up more because you've been disturbed by it. Hopefully these dreams will dissipate for you soon enough. But do try to keep in mind that it is a dream and we can't really help where our dreaming minds wander. It's not an inherently bad thing.

Since you've started having these dreams, what all have you attempted to do to work on this situation?

If you want them to stop or change or have a perspective shift in this matter I would suggest taking some type of action in addition to prayer. I'm not saying you shouldn't pray; that is up to you. But so far there has been some good advice given on this thread and maybe you can try what you feel like applies the best to you.

      1) Are we missing something that you are not telling us?
2.) Why do you think this dream bothers you this much?
3.) Do you know these people in the church personally, in your waking life?
4.) Perhaps you are afraid that these people are judging you? 5.)Do you feel confident around these people?
You know. that just because you are in a church doesn't mean that you are going to do this in real life.
6.)What do you fear in your real life?
When you are in the dream, try to ignore the people. Don't put those people on a pedestal. They are just Dream Characters and not really them. Only you have this power.
Just to be clear that this site doesn't have any credentials or licenses in the psychological, spiritual or medical fields, as far as I know.
You know the best person that can interpret and fix your dreams is Yourself.
With that said, we can help as much as we can but, we can't really work miracles.
We can only suggest things to you and give you our opinions but, it is your dream and not ours. Everyone's dreams are unique. Use your own intuition, instincts, and common sense. We can help guide you but, we can't make them go away easily by snapping our fingers. We don't have that power.

I once kept having dreams i was at disney world (on different rides, attractions). Not having been there in 30 yrs, i started watching youtube videos of different disney rides. This may sound vague but somehow (watching videos, seeing park from different perspective) changed my perception (how i thought of place) and the dreams stopped.

It's really hard to figure out what somebody's dream means if you know nothing about them and if they only give absolute bare essentials about the dream itself. You seem troubled by it, and to want to get some kind of different answer, but if you want any more than the rather wild guesses we've been making, you'd need to give some more info. We don't even know if you're a male or female or how old you are. You could at least tell us that much?

In fact all I just mentioned combined with the nature of the dream makes me wonder if maybe you're afraid of exposing yourself in front of people – as in reluctant to let people see the real you down inside. That might be what the dream is referencing, if you do have such a fear. And if you do that's something you should definitely work on. Fears can be dissolved with a little work, but it begins with understanding the fear.

Generally dream analysis is done by a psychologist for a patient who is seeing them long term, so the doctor would know all about the patient – their issues and whatnot. I'm not asking for that level of sharing of course, but I will say that when people post dreams for analysis in here it's a lot easier and they get a much more accurate reading if they give a decent level of info concerning any issues they're experiencing at the time or in their life in general, or anything they think might be relevant.

You're totally anonymous in here - we don't know who you are or where you're from, and we don't want to. Think about it – what better place to practice opening up than online with strangers where you're completely anonymous. If you can't open up in a situation like this, then where can you?

I would be more worried if I was sleepwalking and climbed a tree butt naked in the cold weather. Or if you actually showed up in the church in the nude in real life.

All this talk about being naked in a dream, caused me to have a nude dream last night. I was at the store shopping with my mom in the dream when my ex-friends were there and her mother noticed that I was not wearing anything.

These Dream Characters show up from time to time in my dreams. They put me through hell in real life and in my dreams. I knew them from school. Trust me, though when I say this, it used to be worse but, I got to a point where they don't bother me that much that I need someone praying for me. Just saying.

Back to the dream, They just stared for a few minutes, then took their phones out and started taking pictures. At this point, other people were staring and taking pictures. I can hear the store managers yelling at me and sirens were drawing near.
At first, I didn't notice what all the fuss was all about but, then I looked down and saw that I was in my birthday suit. I recall my face flush in embarrassment because people I knew in both, my waking life and dream life were there and I didn't want to look like a crazy nut in front of everyone, you know? Then I noticed that these people were distorted. Then I smiled because I knew that I was dreaming. They looked at me, laughed at me as the police approached me and they were going to grab me when I blurted out, "Hey! But, you're the last name is Buttnaked too. They looked at me, looked at each over then at themselves and then looked at me then looked at themselves again. My ex-friend was the first to realized that she was now nude. Then the rest of the Dream Characters started scrambling.
Unlike the OP, I had an idea of why I had the dream.
1.)It was because of us talking about being naked here. This happens to me a lot.

2.) This was one of those dreams that annoying dream characters appeared in the dream that I probably have to learn from.

3.) Stress or not feeling well. I seem to have dreams about people from school from stress.

4.) What I did before I went to bed. This is simple. I got ready for bed, you know like changing out of my clothes?

Edited: You need to go into it as though you are a confident person, if not you will most likely fail when you are trying to resolve an issue.
