Watch more anime. Draw some manga if you are able to. Dreams can often reflect the art forms we engage with, so if you want more dreams to reflect a certain art, interact with that art form more often. I've had dreams that looked like anime, or dreams that looked like older RPG's like Daggerfall, or even dreams that take the form of the 2D top down adventure game I am tinkering with. I've noticed more frequent clumping of such dreams around when similar art forms are engaged with.

1. Yes!! I've had some cartoon dreams. Sometimes they are like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" where there were people were either cartoon or human. Sometimes, the cartoon characters become more real than a cartoon. Fact, I used to work as a mod for Butch Hartman forum so, some of the dreams back then were mostly cartoons.

I know this sound rather crazy but, one my dream started as me finding the Mask. This, as you may or may not know, is an easy way to be lucid because everyone knows that he is like a Cartoon or at least it is for me. This took place at night. I recall putting the mask on and jumping out my window like in the movie "The Mask". "Look, mom!! I'm dreaming." Sometimes, I would draw a cartoon door and it comes to life, for me.

2. For me, I just watch something or read something then I dream about it. I don't know if you try drawing a cartoon, it would help have more cartoon dreams though.

A strong intent usually does the trick for me.

At one point I was watching and drawing a ton of Dragonball related material. This usually ended up with me teaming up with Krillin to go on an adventure in my dreams for some reason.
So yeah intent, and all the interaction you can have with the subject during the day will transfer over to the dreamworld at some point.
