Demon exorcist

I'm an exorcist. I'm tracking a demon spirit that's believed to have possessed a child. I hear a rumor the demon is in a large mechanical workshop. I travel to the workshop and see the demon possessed girl in a vestibule entrance to the workshop. The girl is unrealistically small, about the size of a doll. The demon is with another man who is terrified and sweating profusely. The demon hears me enter the vestibule and turns to look at me. When it sees me it grins widely and says "You're too late, soon I will devour this man's soul and become even more powerful". I don't intervene and unbeknownst to the demon I release some of my soul to surround the man. When the demon tries to absorb the man's soul, it instead absorbs a small portion of my soul. When that happens, I'm able to mind control the demon. The demon is outraged and screams "Impossible! Why would you sacrifice your soul just to save this man's?". I respond with "It was just a small fraction of my soul, I'll survive. What's more important is now I can destroy you." I will (force to move through mind control) the demon to enter the workshop and I follow behind it. The demon and I walk to the back corner of the workshop where I find lady working at a craft table. I tell her this girl is possessed by a demon and I need to destroy the girl's brain. She gives me a wrench and tells me to have at it. I'm a bit taken aback by her brutality, but take the wrench and will the demon to lay down. I hit it in the head with the wrench weakly, but I just don't have the resolve to beat this young girl to death. The lady sees I'm struggling and offers a different solution of electrocuting the girl to death. She hands me a large exposed wire and I place it onto the girl's head. It shocks her and she appears to die. I feel sick, but relieved that this is all over. I walk back into the vestibule and the same man is there. He asks what happened and I tell him I killed the child, thus killing the demon. He seems relieved and mentions he's just been troubleshooting a fuse box. Shortly after I entered the workshop a fuse blew. I think for a second and realize that the blown fuse may have been when I was electrocuting the girl and the fuse blowing may have prevented the girl from being killed. I run back into the corner of the workshop and see the girl is gone. The lady is also missing and lots of lockers are opened with clothes thrown everywhere. I realize the demon is trying to escape so I immediately start searching for it. The dream jumps to a military checkpoint. I see a military truck full of soldiers. The demon girl is in the back flatbed of the truck holding an M16 with a few soldiers. Once I see the girl I will it to shoot itself in the head with its M16. It does and then it slumps over and falls out of the flatbed onto the ground. The soldiers seems shocked, but don't say anything or intervene. I grab the M16 the girl was holding and start shooting up the girl's entire body. I shoot hundreds of bullets until the girl is just bloody goo on the ground.

What did the demon look like? And why did you think killing the girl would kill the demon?

I never saw the demon itself, just the demon possessed girl. Don't know, I just knew it to be true in the dream.
