      Lightbulb Mantra for Dream Recall

In the Year 2010, I tried Lucid Dreaming. I used to repeat the Mantra “This is Just a Dream” for 16 HRs a day continuously for 30 days. After repeating this Mantra continuously for 30 days ie 480 HRs I DID NOT BECOME LUCID but Ended Up stopping ALL OF MY THOUGHTS for 30 SECONDS. After this incident, my work shift changed so I could no longer practice mediation.

Now I have been maintaining a Dream Journal Since Nov 2021.

Now here is my problem: I do not remember my Dream. I do not get vivid dreams and even if I get dreams I do not remember them.
I have had Insomnia. I sleep only for less than 6 hrs.
I have been working rotational shifts and mainly night shifts for more than 12 years. It's only in the past 2 years I have had a Day shift. So I sleep for 4hrs to 6hrs.
But I have asked All my Friends and they have said that all of them dream and remember their dreams.

"So I think I need permission from God to Enter the World of Dreams. "

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the month of March I did not write anything in my DJ because I did not have any Dreams.

But everyone says you Dream so may be I just don’t remember my Dreams

So here is what I will try.
I will make an MP3 audio saying that I will remember my Dreams and Listen to it everyday whenever I get Time.

Will This help me with my Dream Recall ?
      -------------------------------------------------

Are people who experience insomnia able to recall thier dreams ?

I'm not sure if making MP3 audio saying that "I will remember my Dreams and Listen to them every day" would work.
This may do the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish. (IMO)

      1. Have you seen a doctor about your Insomnia?

      2. Have you been under any kind of stress with your job or your waking life?

It's worth noting that everyone's Sleep pattern and Cycle are different.
I would start recording again with how well you slept in your DJ, what time you went to bed. Keep on going with the Dream Journal!! It is more than just a technique, a dream journal is a core component, a fundamental, of dream practice. A dream journal acts as one's personal "map" of the dream world and is an indispensable tool that every dreamer or Lucid dreamer should possess.
A Dreamer without a regularly updated journal finds themselves in a position no less impaired than a cartographer without pen and paper, or a scientist without a means to record data.
I would try to do it each morning, shortly after waking, transfer any dream memories and relevant factors from your night's sleep into your journal. If required, one can either use a voice recorder or shorthand system to quickly record key points that can be transferred, in full detail, at a more convenient time later in the day.
The more data collected the better, beyond a record of just your dreams, additionally recorded data, you can (and should) also record your: sleep times, sleep quality, distractions, level of health, techniques used, sleep environment, hormonal cycles, diet, sleeping arrangements (partner/alone, etc.), and any other relevant factors.
Also, Before sleep, You can use your journal to note any dream goals or intentions for the coming night.
Edited: I would work on getting sleep rather worrying about remembering your dreams.
      Hope you resolve your Insomnia!

That said, I'm going to move this to a more appropriate place.

I agree with Humble, here. Have you seen a doctor?

Some things that could help are:

      1. Make sure you have a blue-light filter on all electronic devices (computer, phone, tablet, e-reader, etc.). You can get them for free easily. I use f.lux on my computer. Science is showing that blue light can be harmful to one's circadian rhythm and sleep patterns when used at night. It acts like caffeine to the brain. You want orange light after sunset.

      2. Make sure you're giving yourself a LOT of time for sleep, even if you think you won't use it. Try to adjust your schedule to go to bed earlier, if you can. I find dream recall is so much stronger when I go to bed early.

      3. Practice relaxation techniques before bed. I love chamomile tea. Hot baths are nice. You could meditate. Listen to soft music. Read a book. Aromatherapy. Etc.

      4. Get a black-out curtain for your room. It can be very helpful, but, you want to make sure you're also getting enough sunlight during the day to balance it out (your pineal gland needs both for proper melatonin production).

I wouldn't be surprised if your changing work shifts have something to do with your insomnia. I am not a doctor, so please take what I say with a grain of salt. See a doctor Good luck!

      Thanks to both of you.
I have seen a doctor and I am under Homeopathy medication for past 1 week.
