My dreams tend to be weird, random and strange. But I'm not sure why. The internet says it could be my mental health, but I don't know if I should believe that. Opinions? And pretty often, they have metaphors of anxiety, loneliness and such.

No, dreams can be random and strange. I think you are referring to; is a non-lucid dream. Not all dreams have a meaning. Although, if you are dealing with a mental issue, you may want to see a professional in person for it.
Btw, when you say that you don't think that you should believe that, that can be a good thing. You can't always believe what you are reading or seeing online. Think Critically.
Do you keep a Dream Journal? That can help with figuring out why you are dreaming what you are dreaming.
Yes. I've been writing them down for a whole year now, 72 pages so far. It's decorated with stickers, and some gift wrapping paper with roses.
I think everybody's dreams are weird, but most people don't remember them.
If you agree with the Jungian framework, then dreams are like your subconscious' attempt to process information (and tell it to the ego). I have found it very helpful to work through my dreams for mental health reasons since it shows me how my subconscious processes information in ways that i'm not aware about. If this is something you want to try, you could read Inner Work by Robert Johnson.
They can be quite cryptic and not always say what you may think at first glance. If your dreams have themes of loneliness and anxiety it may not necessarily be how you feel, but it may have another symbolic meaning.
If you have constant themes or situations that repeat, then your subconscious is having trouble processing some info or working really hard to relay the message to you.
eg. I had constant dreams of stone castles being flooded with blood, or marble buildings with murder inside, etc. Once I even dreamed of a stone entrance to hell with a statue of the devil outside of it. By analysing them I realised these dreams symbolically meant that i was having a serious change of mind (king in the castle has been killed) and gaining power over my depression (entrance to hell but staying outside of it). These violent dreams did not mean I was a violent person, they symbolically meant I was killing a subconscious figure of authority and replacing it with myself.
I've got to point, in my DJ that I know what trigger certin dreams. It is probably a good idea to learn how your brain works when it comes to your subconscious. That is why you may want to not only record your dreams but, also what you did during the day and right before you go to bed too.
