Thinking about dreams within dreams

I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else here, because it's a pretty frequent occurrence in my dreams. I'll be dreaming and in the dream, I'll think of some event or scenario and I'll think that the scenario I've thought of was from a previous dream I've had. Now, when I wake up, I'll remember the scenario that I thought about and I'll be confused as to whether that event actually was a previous dream from another day, or if it was actually a scenario I had in a previous dream that night (or maybe not even at all - like a false memory). I hope I've made some sort of sense here, haha. Just curious if this ever happens to anyone else here
