      Thumbs up

When I close my eyes, my mind wanders...a lot! I think about all sorts of things, but the thing is, if I open my eyes after a few minutes of mind wandering, I cant remember a single thing I was thinking about!!!
I want it thick and long and to keep me up all night... I'm talking about the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book you pervs!!!

Yeah that happens to me too. Sometimes I'll have what seem like brilliant ideas but when I try to think back, I can't remember them.

Same thing happens to me. I'll be thinking of something genius, but then..."Oooh, look! A rainbow!"...and then I have no idea what I was just thinking about.

Yes. Sometimes I put my head down in class and have a slight dream, and then when the bell rings I can't remember a single thing that just happened. It's pretty annoying actually.

      short term memory loss......
just kidding.. that happens to me alot. and it gets frustrating.. so i have to think back one thought at a time.. and sometimes even then it doesnt even work.. mabey one should have a recorder on their person at all times, to record thoughts then you wont forget them... hmmm...

I actually use to have this problem, but have overcome it easy enough.

The trick is, kinda like DDK said, think back one thought at a time. Use the Associative Process, associate each thought with another, or something familiar that will remind you of that thought, and when your thinking backwards to a certain thought, think of what you associated with it, and your thought train will come back to you very easily.

Hmm, I find I am very good at remembering my own thoughts. If I go somewhere I haven't been in a few months, I can still remember what I was thinking last time I was there, which actually is kinda scary.

Maybe it's just different for different people.

I think this memory lapse is a sign of being in a state of light meditation. This sometimes happens to me, if I'm working on a drawing or painting I'll just get "lost" - feels like I'm in a trance. Except that, I don't actually realize I was in this trance until AFTER I snap out of it.

I think when your mind "wanders" you're brain waves reach an amplitude level which is the same as when you're in stage II or III of sleep.
