When escaping things in dreams, running from things, or just traveling in dreams do you find yourself moving forward, like, in a straight progressive line? If I am dreaming I am on a street escaping something I tend to just go straight down a street until I reach an end or I wake up. I just notice I never feel as if I move left or right, just forward.
I wonder if it's from years spent playing 2d side scrolling video games as a young kid in the 80's and it somehow has somehow influenced my dreams.

Usually if I try to escape from something I always fail. Especially in nightmares. I can't really keep track of whether I'm going in a straight line or not...

when im escaping things I always face them and try to fight them off, these days I never run from anything in my dreams
when im traveling something always takes me off track, like a huge bear following me along a road so I run into the bushes

If I'm in a bad dream sometimes when I'm trying to run my legs become incredibly heavy and I can hardly move at all. Its quite horrible :/ It rarely happens though so not to much of a problem :D

I only run when my only focus is on running. When I have a destination, I usually just show up there without any real travel time.
When I run in my non-lucid dreams I usually just run in a straight line (or I cant run at all because time slows down or gravity goes strange), but in my only lucid dream, I specifically remember running, turning left, and continuing to run

I can run diagonally, change my direction mid-run, etc.
I'm also not restricted to one direction while flying, either.
Also, you guys who have trouble running at any decent speed, try it on all fours. I did it last night, and the speed was incredible. It's definitely a must try.
