When you talk about dream recall in regards to being a pre-requisite to lucid dreaming.
Just how much recall do they mean?
IE.
Recalling ALL of the dream you just had, some of the dream, or all of ALL the dreams you had that night?
or is just recalling bits of a dream you had or bits of multiple dreams you had the night before?
Because on average I can at the very minimum, recall something of at least one dream each night and
I'm just wondering is that ok for a start?

There one primary and very obvious reason recall is considered a prerequisite - if (when) you have a lucid, you want to REMEMBER it!
I have found that even when my recall isn't that great, lucids are so incredible that I remember them better than other dreams. But in saying that, I have no idea if I've "lost" any lucids. I suspect I have.
Another thing is being able to analyze your dreams to find dream signs to become more aware of to trigger reality checks.
You don't need any recall, when it comes down to it - but if you don't have recall, why bother trying to attain lucidity?
In my case, I like to at least try to remember parts of a couple dreams per night... but I strive to reconstruct entire dreams. (This has been a real struggle for me lately, but there's an outside reason for that.)
Good luck!

According to EWOLD, one dream a night is enough. Even a fragment of a dream is considered a dream; when people say they remember 5-6 dreams a night, I suspect most often that is a combination of fragments and full dreams. Of course there are always exceptions...
Always keep working on recall, even if you feel you don't need to. More is always better, but yes... I think you are ready to start RCs and induction techniques as well. :content:
