I want to compile a list of books with dreams as a theme. It doesn't have to be the main theme, and they don't have to be how-to-do-it type books (though I'm not excluding those). Novels, philosophy, poetry, anything. Dreams don't have to be the main theme or even all that prominent within the book. It's mainly books or writers with dreams as a prominent feature, but any book with an interesting use of dreams in it would be interesting to know about.

Also, music -- dreams mentioned in the lyrics, or a feel of reverie that strongly reminds you of dreaming, or works that inspire lucid dreams or influence your dream content.

And also art. Some artists (surrealists especially) use dreams for inspiration. Any artist or work of art that makes you think of dreams, lucid ones or dreams in general.

I started with the idea of wanting inspiration for remembering my dreams, making them more vivid and so having more opportunities for lucid dreams. But I decided to generalize my lists to just anything having some interesting relation to the dream life.

If anything pops in mind, please at least give the title and writer/composer/artist. Hopefully it'll be a fun topic.

      Thanks!

A short story written by Lovecraft :

You can also read The Cats of Ulthar, The Doom that Came to Sarnath, The Other Gods, The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, The Silver Key.

As for an artist that makes me think of the dream world, I would definitely say Salvador Dali.

All of the gorgeously rendered and brilliantly written Little Nemo comics from the early 1900's, by Windsor McCay - a pioneer in animation as well as being a wonderful draftsman and cartoonist.

If you aren't familiar with this work, try to find it in your local library.
