      Question Non-Lucid Dream With Control?

Last night I had what I think was a non-lucid dream, but I had an incredible amount of control. I was able to shrink things and make them get bigger, I could summon people, and I could clone myself, amongst other things.

However, I am not certain wheter I was lucid or not. I don't remember ever becoming lucid in that dream, although I very well may have become lucid. There were plenty of instances in the dream where this could have happened. I remember distinctly looking at a display which had many random symbols, but I don't remember thinking this was in any way odd.

So, is it possible to have a dream where you have full control over everything, but are not aware that you are dreaming?

Just realized this should be in general dream discussion, is there any way for me to move it?

      Hey there,

I always find this a tricky question. Having dreamcontrol usually implies you know you're dreaming on some level, after all, its this knowledge that allows you to realise you can change things in a dream. To put it in another way, you don't go around in waking life trying to make things shrink do you? So on some level you had to be aware that you were dreaming.

But here we hit the grey zone, exactly what level of awareness is enough to call a dream lucid? Lucidity is not an all or nothing thing, you're not either lucid or you're not, there's many many degrees of lucidity, and many variations on those degrees.

In the end though, does it really matter? The dream was what it was. Enjoy it and take it as is, I'd say. Whether or not you call it lucid really has very little effect on the dream itself, doesn't it?

      Just my 2 cents,

Red covered my thoughts. You certainly don't need to be lucid to have full control, in my opinion. I find myself flyingand jumping and performing actions that would be impossible in everyday life in my dreams...not many at all of which are lucid. But...on some level as Red said, you probably DO know it...it's deep down though...

Try to be aware of those crazy abilities you'll get when dreaming and maybe next time you'll have fun while FULLY lucid.

I fly often in dreams, but I never think about whether it is physically possible.

Yes, I had quite a few dreams where I was fighting and used some sort of power to win. Quite a few of my non-lucid dreams I had more contrl over them then I did lucid dreams.

I used to have a lot of dreams where I was in control, but was not lucid. I would say that I was "very good at dreaming," but I have less of those. I'm still hopeful that those will come back, but in the meantime, if I can become lucid, then I'll take what I can get.

As Red was saying, we don't know that we're dreaming, but we somehow understand that we're in a world that we can control, a world that isn't bound by the rules of the waking world.

So far I have only had one lucid dream with any control, but I have had many non-lucid dreams where I had a fair bit of control.

Perhaps when we are lucid our concious minds can prevent us from doing things which would be impossible in waking life. When we are non-lucid there is nothing which says, "Hey, that's impossible!"

Whoa... I just posted a thread like this in the dream control forum.... Didn't see this till just now. Whoops!

I have a natural talent to control time in my dreams... I've done it too many times to count. I also can do a couple other things like spawning tools/people/items I need in the dream, but that's nowhere near as common. Here's the thread I made (maybe mods should delete it or move it). http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=46126
