      Dreamcatcher suppressed my dream recall

My friend gave me a dream catcher recently, because she says they are not her style. She uses herbal sorts of magick. So anyway, I hung it in my room and for 2 days I could not recall my dreams. I have a few other catchers in my room but they have not hurt my recall in anyway and there is a blue one that I have that I use to help me LD. I took down the catcher and put it in a box and that night I was able to dream and recall inthe morning... I haven't cleansed the catcher because my friend said she did for me, and also I was being lazy before i took it down. I put it back up to check my experimentation of the retarded dreamcatcher, and this morning I could barely recall my dream. It seems like it caught my dream from my head alltogether. I'll go cleanse it today and see if it changes.

I'm not sure if ya'll believe in this sort of thing, but I do. Has anybody had any dream differences with the Native American dream catchers?

I personally don't believe those, but they are cool anyway ^^

Cleanse it and see if it works. You never know if your friend really did it xD

I've noticed I always wake up in the night if I'm not wearing my watch, but hey that's another thing ^^

Hmm, i have one in my room and i have never practiced to get better dream recall.

Here's the thing, i remember pretty much every dream i've ever had so...I would say that i believe that it helps me.

Oh and yes, this is a Navajo dream catcher. My friend made it for me.
Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

I've got some dream-catcher earrings but I don't wear them at night. Now I don't know whether I should or not with all this conflicting information.

They work if you truely believe they do. At least that is what I think. They have no "power" in them. The power is only in your mind. Yes, it sounds very Matrix-like. LOL

when i was younger like maby 8 i remember having bad dreams and when i went to a pow wow (a native gathering) i recieved a dream catcher and when i hung it up in my room i never had bad dreams at all !..it may have been a placebo and just tricked my mind into not dreaming bad things but it definatly took away bad dreams for me.

Okay. so I still have not cleansed the catcher, but I hung it last night and this morning remembered most of my dream.
It may have been just a coinsidense that I could not recall my dream. My subconscience must have told me not to remember those dreams those last two days.

      Placebo effect

Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience.
It isn't more complicated that that.
It is opening to or recieving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is,
without either clinging to it or rejecting it.

      I've had a dreamcatcher expeirence

I too believe they work, but not when you want them to.

I have found my one was quite destructive a while ago.
I made a post ages ago called "Dreamcatcher Destroyer", it explains the episode in more detail. But basically, i had a whole week of intense bad dreams and sleep halluciantions.
i used to hang it in my window (not anymore), and one morning when getting ready for work, i walked out of my room and i heard a loud crack, i went back into my room, and right where the bead was my window had shattered outwards from that point. i have double glazing, and the break was from on the inside. Even the repair man was confused and had never seen it before.

So i belive they work, but when they want.
Broken shards of a shattered dream,
Thrown against the wall of time,
We all end up in pieces.

What is cleansing the dreamcatcher? I'd like to try it because I'm having a bit of trouble with dream recall and I have a dreamcatcher hanging near my bed.
