      Imaginary Crush

      Greetings, and Happy New Year!
I am having a bit of a problem. Over the past 5-6 years I keep having dreams where I meet someone who is the perfect person for me, and I develop deep feelings for them. Then I wake up.
I am very sad that I cannot revisit these dreams, as I am not partial to lucid dreaming.
In 2007 there were around 4 of these types of dreams. They always involve a familiar setting, and familiar people (i.e. people from school) but they are NEVER a real person. They are always made up in my mind.
The latest one was about a little person whom I met at my old friend Alex's house who I have not spoken to in many years. Alex had all his guy friends over, who were people I knew from school.
I remember he had climbed up into the tree you have to climb in order to get over the fence on the yard's boundaries, so I climbed up after him, and before jumping down he just turned and stared at me in the eyes. Then he left.

So is your question how you can revisit these dreams? And welcome to the forum!

Maybe you can try dream incubation. You can find a tutorial for it in the tutorial section.

The part where he looked at you in the eyes when you were in the tree, was that in real life or the dream?

And also the technique I think you are looking for is right here:

I too have those dreams... it hurts not being able to see them doesn't it...well to answer your question, if you constantly remind yourself of that person for about a week you'll have lots of dreams about them for a while. At least i do.

Though dream incubation can indeed help you re-enter such a dream, I would say that it may not be the best idea.

As much as you yearn to have such dreams, it's merely a sign of what you yearn for in reality and drowning in illusions can be very painful in the long run when you realise you could have taken real action instead.

Not to be pessimistic or depressive though. I just think that it might be a good idea to consider acting upon such yearning feelings in reality instead of searching for their reflections in dreams.

Yeah but it could brighten up your week, and make you feel good inside. Or the opposite.
