Greatest dream I have ever had

Hi, my name is Damone and this is my first time posting on this forum, but not my first time with a forum or with interpreting dreams. But this time was something different.

I would really love any input towards this, my mind is going crazy trying to figure it out, and right now as I'm going to sleep I hope I get the same dream.

First off, before the dream I had been out with a few of my best friends. In that night we were pulled over by the cops, let off, one of my friends brothers friends drove a scooter drunk and skidded over and grazed himself, but besides a bit of bleeding he's fine. I got home at 4am, and went to sleep about 5 min after I got in. I was really tired when I went to sleep, my eyes were heavy. Also, this cat that has been following me for about a week slept next to me. He's a great cat, really really friendly (assuming it's a he).

Anyway, this dream I had starts off with me walking to my school, lake side school. It was a perfectly round lake, and the water was really smooth. (If anything, I would liken it to the water in Age of Mythology). There were some hills on the west side of the lake. All the grass was a lush green, and the path was that kind of reddy gravel path. The walls of the school were red brick, it seems like maybe a posh private school (btw I just finished school this year). Then suddenly at the gate it's night time, and it turns out I'm walking to a ball, and there's other people there. I walk up to this girl I've never seen before. She's my age, 18, and just thinking about this person now is making my heart flutter, that feeling you get when you would sit next to your school yard chrush as a kid. It seems plainly obvious I was attracted to this person. Then we're on the other side of the lake, and she says she has to get something from home, somehow I know it's clothing for her to wear for me. So I tell her that we can go to my place for it (which makes the purpose of her leaving suddenly become pointless). It's still night time, and we go through the lake towards my house. She's kayaking, and I'm swimming. At one point I started swimming upside down (not as a stunt, but as if I've lost balance and I'm sinking). Then from under the water I see her and I become upright again, and I'm swimming fine. This hole time I'm with this girl I feel amazing. I mean, this was love, the extent of this feeling, I haven't felt it before with anyone, at all. I was sure I had felt love until this dream.

And I'm serious when I said before about thinking about her still gives me great feelings. I've been doing it all day.

It breaks my heart knowing I probably won't meet this person. What I want to know is, what the hell? I mean, this all seems like subliminal meanings, the lake, swimming at night while she's on a canoe (my guess is a kind of self sacrifice on my part). There was another girl at one point, but I can't tell if she was my friend or hers. There was no attraction there (this was when I met her)

I apologise for the length of this, but I've noted everything I can think of. Oh, and I currently have a girlfriend, but in the dream there were no feelings of bad, no hints towards adultary, my girlfriend wasn't involved at all, and I could tell that I was not with anyone when I 'met' this girl.

Help me, I'm in love with a figment of my imagination.

      Hello Vercetti

What does any of us truly love other than a figment of our imagination?

I get dreams like this from time to time (including last night - see my DJ if you're curious) and others report the same. Yes, we do indeed have an idealised opposite-sex construct who visits us in our dreams. We feel deeply in love with this person. They make us feel whole. It feels totally natural. Then we wake up and realise we're alone again and we yearn for that person to come back.

When we meet someone we like it's likely because we want them to be that person for us. Of course they can't really do that and if we persist in thinking they should be the relationship fails to work.

So yes, the short answer is that she is only in your dreams. She'll return maybe soon maybe much later. Enjoy her and know she's there even if you can't access her.

A dream! What is a dream? And is not our life a dream?
