Dreaming is actually the work of your brain, not the rest?

I was wondering, people have had dreams that seem more real then real life. People have figured out things they couldn't figure out while awake. And if you look at it, blind people have better hearing, so if you aren't using any senses, wouldn't you're brain be at full power? So technically, you're using your brain minimally during the day, and stretching it when the rest of your body rests? Does this make sense at all?

Well, your brain is also somewhat at rest. Some sections of your brain are inactive during different stages of sleep, which explains why most dreams are so weird.

Yes that's about how I understand it. The other important difference however is that your ego is also resting so you don't have a means to regulate what's flowing into your dreams or how to make sense of it. That's why we can only do so when we wake up and engage our ego again. But unconscious thought processes are still thought processes. And yes, we may solve difficult problems in our dreams - if only we were in control enough to make this happen at will.

So wait, what happens when we turn lucid? do those sections come back up? or are they still resting?

The reason the brain seems more creative during rest/sleep is because sensual input becomes limited and it is left to create its own "input" to keep it from getting bored. So it searches for interesting things to keep it occupied.

I like to think the brain as a processor with built in graphic card. Since we don't use it's full potential this processor is buffed to 95% with the default body functions and processing thoughts and senses.

When we are awake our eyes get images from the outside and the brain only process it. When we are asleep the part that process the images is not occupied with outside images, so what we see is the creation of images by the processor itself. So you see those created images much clearly because the brain does not process any outside images.

During the day when we visualize the brain doesn't have enough RAM or whatever to see the visualization clearly because its occupied processing outside images. I believe that if in the future man would use more of it's brain power, get an upgrade, he will be able to see his thoughts as clear as in dreams during awake consciousness.

Indeed. However, this is only the case with non-lucid dreams. When lucid, you are fully aware of your 'self'; ego; consciousness.
