The purpose of dreams
I had a dream a few weeks ago in which a monk of some kind told me
"The purpose of dreams is so that those who have already lived in this life can reach enlightenment without having to."
I've had a few people try to interpret this but its kind of a confusing statement because we don't know what the "without having to" refers to. I'm guessing living in this life. My friend's friend said that it might be about learning through experiences of our past lives in dream, without having to really experience them again in this life. I haven't really made up my mind. Any thoughts?

First off, was that monk a Buddhist? Second, I think "without" is meaning without having to die before becoming enightened, maybe? I don't know, I never could understand all that Buddism and Hindu stuff, that is if that is where it's coming from.

How can you remember such a long sentence from your dream? I don't want to be rude, but that sounds more like a personal clear-minded elaboration to what might have been the original context of the sentence.

I've remembered whole conversations; why couldn't he remember a single sentence?
Which sounds pretty cool Sephiroth but I have no idea what it means. Let us know if you find out.

Things like that happen in dreams. You may not physically hear the person say it in the dream, but your mind will just know thats what the person said.
