Nothing in life is a coincidence.
Well, there's this... http://www.crystalinks.com/11.11.html
I also tried looking up different ways of adding the numbers to get certain Bible verses, and in two different ways I ended up getting this...
2 Corinthians. Chapter 3. Lines 4-7.
"We are sure about all this. Christ makes us sure in the very presence of God. We don't have the right to claim that we have done anything on our own. God gives us what it takes to do all that we do. He makes us worthy to be the serves of his new agreement that comes from the Holy Spirit and not from a written Law. After all, the Law brings death, but the Spirit brings life. The Law of Moses brought only the promise of death, even though it was carved on stones and given in a wonderful way. Still, the Law made Moses' face shine so brightly that the people of Israel couldn't look at it, even though it was a fading Glory."
Not sure if that means anything to you, but it did come up twice, so I guess it may have been worth mentioning. I've found that some numbers in my dreams often add up to Bible verses that give me a greater understanding about what was going on.
Even in chapter 4, when looking at line 7, it repeats the message of the fact that this 'power' doesn't come from us, but God. Perhaps there is some message in that for you.
The time while reading this thread was 03:17. 3+1+7=11. lol
Man. That's weird. All your numbers seem to add up to 11. Mine all seem to add up to 12.
:) Did ya make a wish
how can anything out of the infinitely many possibilties of everything be a coincidence?
I have a great interest in "dream-maths". I think the starting point is that some of us think in numbers more than others. Like some think in pictures, or feelings or whatever.
Anyhow, I personally believe that our minds/bodies (who knows?) are pretty good timekeepers. I can wake at exactly the same time each morning - even after the clocks change. So somewhere in me is an internal clock which I can't control but seems to have an ability to control me.
I think it's entirely reasonable, though hard to explain why, that the OP knew it was 11:11. Then the dream just muddled it up as it teetered on the edge of consciousness.
Or it could be coincidence and 83.47 means something entirely different. Two prime numbers, for starters. Or it could be something as banal as part of the serial number of the OP's laptop for example.
What do you mean that the number came to you? Like you saw it on a clock, written somewhere, someone said it to you, you just KNEW it in that way that you know things in dreams... was it a decimal like that? Was someone giving you change or charging you for something? Was it some kind of measurement?
Until I knew that I couldn't possibly say anything about its relation to the time... that just seems like coincidence
I had a dream once where a clock said 9:30 and I remembered going to bed at 11:30... and I woke up at 1:15. the whole thing seems just as unrelated to me, except that seeing the clock gave me lucidity.
And regardless of the reason two people bought the same shirt it is what we call a coincidence when they happen to wear them on the same day and together. This is language; sure theres nothing special going on objectively; but this is what we interpret as coincidence.
Everything else in your post is completely irrelevant.
i agree with you that the definition of the word coincidence is correct.
a striking occurrence of two or more events at one time apparently by mere chance
this is what you call a coincidence because that what you were taught and thats what the dictionary says...
its hard for me to believe that mere chance accounts for everything similar that happens at the same time... every piece of matter on this planet is made from the same particles at the same time... mere chance? No one knows and no one will ever know...
Right your first point about the definition of coincidence; of course thats why we call it coincidence, because it is the widely accepted definition of the word. You seem to be hinting that it means something else; if you want to refer to some cosmic synchronicity, use a different word, because coincidence means by chance and this is solely in our language; apart from how we use it the word has no meaning, its just a sound or a series of marks.
Secondly the fact that everything is fundamentally made of the same particles does not fall under the definition of coincidence. I don't see what is so amazing that things are made of fundamentally similar materials; it is an inevitability.
I don't really understand what you are trying to get at. You've mentioned a lot of various things, but what exactly does it all add up to? Are you saying you believe in Fate, or in man's ability to control his life? Where does God play into all of this? Do you have proof that existence itself is infinite?
We can talk about shirts and clocks, but what are the implications that these arguments lead to?
its amazing because when you feel things or see things the are different, but when you break it down everything is the same. HOw is possible to smack a solid object and yet it 99.99999999999 empty space?Quote:

orly?
I don't think i have a problem comprehending how the universe works. 83.47 is the answer to everything.
