Thread: Are Dream guides real?

I don't think I've ever seen one. That's not to say they don't exist though.

they are very much real, Dream Guides are helpful people in your dreams and alot of people have one.

There are some guides around the place about how to find yours but the most common method is shouting in a dream "Show me my dream Guide" or something along those lines.. sounds silly but sometimes Dream Characters can pop up infront of you and make you think they're your DG - always make sure to check with the DC if they are infact your DG.
If they say something silly like "Its peanutbutterjelly in a sandwitch!" then you can be rest assured to continue looking

There may be supernatural entities that can observe or interact with us while we dream, but how can you know that its not your own creation? I really doubt each person is assigned a specific dream guide. I think its much more likely that people who speak with guides are communicating with themselves. I've tried getting meaningful communication directly from all kinds of DCs and it never happens. Of course symbolic messages are typical from dreams, but again these can easily be from our own subconscious. I feel my time spent looking for intelligent life within lds has been a total waste, my time is much better spent honing my abilities and learning to stabilize and prolong the lds.

edit: rarely i've had dreams where I did get a bit of profound knowledge from some individuals, but i didn't get the sense that they were my dream guides, or anything other than hallucinations.

It has been my experience that I create my own world. If I want dream guides than I get dream guides. If you believe that they are imaginary or just part of your extended ego, than that is probably the way it will be for you.

In my "dream world" the souls that I interact with can give me information that is verifiable in this reality. Other DC's just feed me back what I tell them to say to me.

LOL. You contradicted your own point, plus misinterpreted mine.

If your mind knows you are responsive to the suggestions of a 'dream guide' and that you desire to learn from 'them', then it can use that form to communicate with you. Thats not to say its impossible for there to be entities that communicate with you, just that it would be nearly impossible to distinguish one from the mind because the mind is very powerful and is capable of knowing things we don't normally perceive. We use the mind to perceive, yet it itself is unfathomable to humans. You cannot verify the reality of something in a dream by comparing it to something else in the dream =) Its like a child saying he knows there is a spaceship in his yard because his imaginary friend told him so.

I've got a special question there:

Is it possible to shape the form of your DG yourself?
I know this girl on the internet, she claims to do astral travels (which are something different to lucidity, I guess everyone here knows) and meet an archangel there who's got the shape of a videogame-character. o_O
Most people think she's crazy.

Could it be that she's just having lucid dreams and visiting her DG?
It seems to me that she is confusing some major things there. xD"

When i shouted for my dream guide a chick in a helicopter came down and started giving me sign language coz the megaphone didn't work. I don't think i'm ready to see my dream guide yet and it's really frustrating. When I find my dream guide I plan to ask them to make my hands black in my dreams, that way i have a permanent reality check.

If you mention astral projection to most people, they'll think you're crazy. It's very possible that a DG could take the form of a character from a video game, or you could ask them to take a different appearance. She may just be LDing, but no one could say for sure. There has yet to be any authority or widespread consensus on much of anything concerning astral travel.
