Making Dreams More Realistic

Hello Everyone,

I am a newbie to lucid dreaming and have not had one yet. However, I have started to keep a dream journal. The problem with my dreams is that most of them are vague, confusing, blurry and unrealistic. Is there any way to make my dreams more vivid and realistic? Some of my friends say that their dreams are as realistic as the waking world.

P.S. Once I have attained a Lucid Dream do I still need to keep a dream journal? It seems impractical to have to wake up a lot during the night

I'm afraid I haven't any advice on how to make dreams more realistic, sorry. Mine are realistic enough (if weird and convoluted), but I just figure some people's dreams are, and some aren't.

Regarding the dream journal though, you don't HAVE to keep one, but I'd recommend sticking to it. I've found that I recall dreams more often the more I keep track of them...and when I lapse on keeping track of them for any extended period of time, I start to remember fewer dreams. I've read in numerous places that keeping a dream journal is a good step toward recalling one's dreams in the first place, so that's my opinion.

Maybe after you've kept the journal for a while longer, your dreams will be more realistic? I just noticed you're new to journaling, so it's a thought.

theres a lot of things posted around this forum to help with that.
for example doing reality checks and stuff to make you more lucid. basically once you know your dreaming your sorted for a crazy time. as for non lucid dreams, then just try think about fun stuff, good memories before you sleep. live a fun life, have fun dreams. Ermmm reading your journal is fun before you sleep, becuase when i have good dreams and want to re-live them again, i usually forget that night. so anyway look around the main website at lucid dreams control ect. sorry i couldnt be of more help.
