      getting HIGHHH in your dreams

I'm just curious has anyone else experienced getting high in their dreams, or even just getting drunk.. and actually fealing the effects.

      Ive had a few

In one dream not an LD, i was at a dance festival.. Daft Punk and i remember i dropped a pill, and in my dream i actualy fealt myself come up on it fealing extremely euphoric and this lasted about 10 minutes. and when i woke up that morning i thought geeez that fealt real

another dream i consumed some mushrooms, (which i never actualy have), and within seconds i was laughing my head off with a mate and again fealing extremely euphoric and happy.. and a few nights later i ate some again, and after a few minutes my friends faces were contorting and changing and i actualy fealt the strange unfamiliar out of body fealing you get when your really stoned. i was actualy kinda scared in my dream as i dont like this fealing at all.. but i enjoyed the dream

... i wonder if serotonin, (the chemical released in your brain that makes you happy) is actualy released in dreams when you feal extrememly happy??

anyways.. hit us up if its happened to you, or even if it hasnt let us know what you think

Getting high is an experience and your mind records all of your experiences. Whether they are difficult or easy to summon during memory recall is another thing. So I would say that if you could conjure some "good" (as my boyfriend calls it) in a dream and smoke, snort--whatever you do--there could possibly be the same brain reaction as if you did it in real life (reuptake of serotonin, depending on the drug), since scientists have proven that the brain reacts the same way in dreams as it does in real life. I think I've toked a bit in my dreams but it's probably because when I was using I was a heavy user (several times a day) so of course it would get in my subconscious somehow. I think that how you feel about your use controls dreams about use. If you are very ashamed of it, you may never dream about it or you could have nightmares about it. If you're OK with your use, I think that would allow for it to pop-up more positively and randomly in a dream.

Yeah, both have happened to me. I've never gotten drunk, so I can't say how accurate it felt. I just felt like I was constantly spinning. It wasn't unpleasant, but again, I don't know how accurate it was. I don't think very accurate. I've gotten high in a few dreams. Actually I got high in a dream a few nights ago. I didn't feel stoned, but when I closed my eyes I had incredible closed eye visuals.

serotonin activity is shut down during rem. taking something that boosts serotonin will suppress rem.

"State-dependent changes in aminergic and cholinergic neuronal function. Schematic representation of progressive decrease of aminergic neurotransmitter release in cerebral cortex as an animal passes from wakefulness through NREM to REM sleep. Cortical concentrations of norepinephrine and serotonin are highest in waking, lowest in REM sleep, and intermediate in NREM sleep. Top panel illustrates sagittal sections of the brain with aminergic neurons of nucleus locus coeruleus (noradrenergic) and dorsal raphe nucleus (serotonergic). Bottom panel illustrates cholinergic neurons of Ch 1-4 (in basal forebrain) and of Ch 5 of peribrachial pontine tegmentum. Cholinergic neurons release levels of acetylcholine as high in REM sleep as they are in waking; release in NREM sleep is lower."

most the common neurotransmitters that dictate our waking mind are decreased or deactivated during rem. it is amazing how different our brain chemistry is during rem, we experience emotions in a a completely different way.

That sounds like when you drink TOO much..when you feel like throwing up. haha.

I've gotten high in my dreams before. I think mainly I remember smoking weed. I could really feel it. It starts to make me think about mind over matter and the fact we can make ourselves feel HIGH without drugs. (in dreams though)
