Learning and experiencing new things in dreams?

Hey has anyone ever learned or experienced something new in a dream? Here's an example:

About four years ago I didn't understand the attraction of french kissing. It just didn't make sense, I didn't really think it was gross but I just didn't see how it would be fun, or a turn on. I mean sticking your tongue in someone's mouth? Count me out, thank you very much.

Well, that view of mine changed when I had a dream where this very attractive girl was frenching me like I was her long lost lover. I remembered the dream perfectly, so safe to say my confusion was cleared as soon as I woke up, and I really liked it.

So of course I know people have had sex in dreams when they're still virgins in the waking world, and sometimes it can be realistic in the dream and sometimes it isn't--but anyways

So, yes including sex, has anyone ever gained a new perspective, experienced a new thing, or learned something from the dreams they've had? Let's hear it!

waking state.

If you use the dream techniques known as sleep
programming, you can THOUGHT-TRAVEL to different
star systems with technology 350+ uears ahead of earth.

Now how can you 'imagine' such things?

It has to be real - the only thing to do is to memorize
as much as possible and copy everything when you wake up.

But...what? What?! Where did that come from? I literally read that thing about ten times trying to figure out what you were trying to say.

Are you saying you can't dream of something new you haven't already done, and so therefore everything you dream is real? Or what? Because I mean I can imagine myself doing loads of things I've never done in the waking world(in this life anyway if you're into reincarnation.)

So...yeah you just confused the hell out of me.

Anyone? Anyone at all? Come on, sheesh. I just had a dream where it was about me having a prosthetic leg, THAT was interesting. Walking, running, going through life, it wasn't so bad. Different, of course, because you can't FEEL THE LEG, ever walk on your foot when it's numb? And it feels like you're trying to walk on a ball? Now imagine that for your whole leg.

Anyone have any interesting dreams about experiences and/or things like that? Huh? ANYONE?

I'm sure we've all had new experiences in our dream. Only thing is, I can't readily remember any of my own examples. :P

I think it's fairly well documented that the subconscious plays a fairly important role in processing nformation (particularly the laying down of memory) and I can think of a number of dreams I've had at various times where I've been processing things or working on ideas/issues that I cared about.

Sadly, the first of those was a computer game that I never did finish. I was twelve, though.

There's been a fair few well-documented instances of this in science, too- One of Watson and Crick had a breakthrough in their discovery of the structure of DNA in a dream, where they saw a snake twist itself into a double-helix shape.

There's also the notion of dream compositions, most notably the account, which is almost a parable in iteslf, of the writing of Khubla Khan in a dream, and the fact that the waking world intruded before the author could write it all down.
