      How to tell the difference between actual dream recall and daydreaming as you wake up?

      Ive recently been attempting to improve my dream recall so i can evenutally have a lucid dream. Im curious though as of how to tell the difference between actual dream recall as you awake or your mind just going off and daydreaming.

      hi

      im at a very early stage also, i started a dream jpurnal 4 nights ago. i know what you mean, when im lying there trying to remember my dream and i am blank, waiting for the click where it starts to come back, and in order to help i start thinking about what i did yesterday and people i know, but i find there to be a distinct difference between dream and current imaginiation;

      1) the dream will be much stronger than what you are 'daydreaming' at that time', you will be thinking about eg what you did yesterday and suddenly last nights dream will BURST through, very stongly and clearly and you will recolect it as a recently past event.

      2) in the blankness after waking up (not remembering the dream) i will think thoughts about what i did yesterday and people i met recently, and these thoughts are 'independant strands of thought that come up randomly, they do not flow with each other, they seem forced, where as once the first scrap of a dream is remembered, the rest flows upon me in a very 'linked fashion', it almost connects together without much effort.

      this is pretty much my morning routine of dream recolection. hope it helps

      I would say.. If you feel you are in. You are dreaming. If you feel its only in your head and you are constructing it... Its daydream.
      Actually.. Does it matter?

      You can't tell the difference, and that's because they're actually the same thing.

      The planets...
      The intricate and dynamic machinery of nature...
      Are you saying,
      that all of this was created,
