How music affect dreaming experience?

I had astonishing dreams while sleeping on a psychedelic trance festivals. On those open air parties music is played whole day and whole night. The camp site is pretty close to the dancing floor and loud music is clearly heared when one is sleeping. Psytrance is supposed to be surreal (psychedelic), hypnotic and mind altering.

What made me think is that during those events I had very vivid dreams with a deep, symbolic quality attached to them. Some of those dreams made me change my attitude towards people, things or my life in general. Dreams that I had on a psytrance festivals are among my most important dreams. I want to make it clear that it isn't connected with drug use because on some festivals I even didn't drunk any alcohol while having significant dreams.

It made me wonder how music affects dreams. Is it hypnotic beat, psychedelic sounds or general atmosphere of those festivals, I'm not sure. Does different genres of music significantly impact dreams? Are there more effective music genres for enchancing dreaming? What are your personal experiences?
