      Dream Places

I have dreams about places that aren't real, but i re-visit them in my dreams. For example: there is a really big house with a long driveway that leads up to it. In my dream its always the same house, but i've never been there in real life. There is also a town I visit regularly. Again, the town isn't real, but I visit it in my dreams. When I visit these places, they seem familiar. Keep in mind it is always a different dream, not the same one over and over. Whats weirder is the feelings I get when I'm at these places. Each one has it's own "feel". Does that make any sense? Also, whenever I'm at one of these places, the same people are there. For example: there is a certain house I dream about and whenever I dream about this place, my friend Ernest is there. Does anyone else experience this? I love it!! Whenever I have a dream like this, I wake up thinking it was truly special.

      hi boger,
I know what you mean, I've been to a lot of dream places which stay the same between dreams. Most of them are so strange and beautiful I don't think they could exist on planet earth. And repeating dream characters too, who are mysterious and not controllable like ordinary dream characters are.

I guess these are just one of the mysteries of the dream world.

thats how my dreams are too, i have quite a few places that i have had at least 3 dreams at even though ive never been there.

Some of them are quite wierd but some are just normal looking places.

Hi, you can use those places as dream sings
I had once 6 dreams in row which were happening in same house.
Of course all of them six had different characters and events like I said they were different dreams.

Oh yes! I know this feeling well! All my life I have been making regular visits to the same place when I'm asleep. Each time I go there, I go to a different location within that place. The area would be approximately 100 square kilometres. I have been there so many times that I could draw a pretty accurate map of the place. It is a section of land on the coast. Sometimes I am on the coast itself, sometimes inland, sometimes in the small town on the coast, etc. Wherever I find myself, I know that it is in the same region because it has the same 'feel', and even though I can't see the whole region, I am aware of what is beyond my vision and it is very familiar.

Also, I am rarely myself when I visit - I am someone else, a person who lives there permanently. More specifically, I am 'within' the other person. However, I am usually within a different person every time I go there. After many years of these experiences, I am convinced that it is a real place in another dimension. I believe that part of my consciousness is projected there while I sleep, and that my consciousness enters another person temporarily, so that I experience whatever it is that they are experiencing.

Sometimes, in my waking life, I have felt 'a presence' within my own mind - and I suspect that it may be part of another person's consciousness projected into my mind while they are asleep and 'dreaming'. It withdraws as soon as I feel it though.

Starry eyes, I have also sometimes visited the sorts of places you have mentioned more than once, but not as often as the one I have described above. I agree that they could not exist on planet earth. They feel totally alien to me, and I believe that they are actually on other planets within our multiverse. Even if I was an expert artist, I would not be able to paint them - these places have colours and qualities that cannot be described or duplicated in our words or materials.

As for the characters in these 'dreams' not being controllable - I believe that is because they are not 'characters' - that they really do exist.

I think one interesting thing about these repeating dream places is that when people describe their dream places it starts sounding like sometimes different dreamers are dreaming of pretty much the same places. Which makes me wonder if these places are like archetypes in the human mind?

That sounds like a nice place to dream of. When I was young, I used to live in a beachcoast area. I would again if it were possible. Can you tell if it is an east coast or a west coast, whether it is in the northern hemisphere or the southern? Knowing that, and a map, and maybe it is a real place in this dimension? Or was a real place, sometimes I wonder if it is possible to inherit ancestral memories.

I don't know But lately my dreams have set me in an elegant house in a place where the clouds are much too low and weather fronts come close to scraping the gound, and there isn't as much sky above.
