Out of curiosity, when you are falling back asleep, do you remember your dreams at that point? If so, it's a sign that you should take whatever memories you do have and write them down. When is the last time that you have recalled a dream? If you recall any dream at all, it might help to write it in your journal. The act of writing a particular dream down could help. Once you have even one dream, you can try reading your DJ before bed. I find it helpful to read my most recent dreams before bed to get me in the mindset. I have broken a few recall dryspells that way.
And focusing on your intention to recall your dreams as you are going to sleep is key as well until it becomes a habit.
