Thread: Dreaming of an ex boyfriend/girlfriend?.

did you use to dream about him a lot? you're subconscious might have just gotten in the habit of dreaming about him.

i know that happened with me about a girl but well she wasn't my ex i was just nutty about her. i spent so much time daydreaming and dreaming about her that when it came time to give her up i kept seeing her in my dreams even though i didn't really care about her much at that point. it would get me confused often.

I dream alot, I always dream alot about the people i love& am around the most, So i guess i have dreamt about him alot in the past i was with him for nearly 8 years. But i seemed to stop dreaming about him, Now all of a sudden he is there in my head again?. In my dreams me& him are just the way we were when we were together& when i wake from these dreams of him i'm depressed but i don't understand why i'm actually feeling this way as i've moved on& i am happy with the person i'm with now?. maybe i'm just thinking about him just recently or something?. Do you ever think or dream about that girl now?.

i still think about her at least once every day and i have been pretty much over her for 2 years. i actually saw her the other day but i was mainly just disgusted with her and myself for being so crazy about her. i am totally over her yet i still think about her at least once a day (i use to think about her 90% of the time every day for a few years), have not dreamt much about her lately but i honestly smoke too much pot and that equals no dream recall. i used to dream about her tho when i was lucid dreaming, i would try to change the topic though. i rarely have a REM dream with her, though i have.

8 years is a long time. give it time. think about it as being like a letting go process for your mind. the next time you are in a dream with him try and become lucid. reflect at that dream state about how you truly feel, without your conscious mind disrupting that with defense mechanisms and whatnot. go to the root of the problem.

don't shut out any love you have for him, just let it flow. if you are truly happy, you have nothing to worry about.

I do dream of my ex. But I know that we both have to move on in life.

I'm intrigued, after all this time do you still dream of her?

i use to dream about an ex-girlfriend monthly even though i had not seen the girl in almost 20 years, recently i saw her on facebook and the dreams have stopped

Well i did never had dreams like this but i have friend who experienced SEX dreams like reall... you know what.

in my dreams she was always 18, like when i met her . now she is 39

I've also dreamt about my ex but that weren't dreams as if we're back together. I can see why that must feel really strange, kinda like cheating on your bf in a dream?
Do you still have contact with him a lot? Or has there happened something recently, concerning him?

Because you dream of your ex doesn't necessarily mean that you still love him or something like that. (Still, you even told that you are in love with someone else). ~
As you know, our subconscious saves memories and experiences that probably our conscious will never dream about. x) Maybe that relationship with your ex marked you in some way, an so your subconscious reminds you of that experience.

Sometimes it's good. What I understand is that you broke up recently with the person that you love, right? So maybe you're feeling a bit empty and lonely. So, your subconscious is trying to remind you that once you had fell in love with a different person! It is trying to show you that although you're not with the person that you love, that doesn't mean you can't be happy!

We can learn a lot with our dreams. However, if you find annoying dreaming with your ex, this could be a good chance to train your lucidity so that you could escape away from that dreams! =) I'm sorry if I said something wrong, but it was from what I understood! x) Good luck!

Yeah i have the same issue, like i will be over her and then i will dream about her, a girl which cheated on me after a year and a half and i would wake up gutted over it despite me feeling over things. I guess since this person was such a large part of my life and has played such a significant role in the person i've become today then it's hard to just "let go" subconsciously, like i guess the inception conflict where his wife plagues his dreams because he is attatched to something he no longer has.

I guess one day it'll become nothing more than a memory.
