I've certainly never seen him. That's very interesting that both you and your friend dream of him, though. I'll be waiting to see if anyone else has heard of this. |

Both my friend & work colleague have dreamed of this chap. For her he is always telling her how much he loves her (in most cases they are married) & she gets a nice feeling, a "twirly stomach" she calls it. He is always tall with long dark hair. In my dreams he is tall & slim with a mop of collar-length dark hair. He doesn't say anything, he just holds me for a bit then lets go. I'm not one for hugging in real life by any means. But during the hug & when i wake up i feel safe, contented, relaxed....can't think of any other words. Never seem to get as much of the lurve vibe as my friend does, though. Unlike my friend who feels disappointed that it was all a dream when she wakes up, i wake with the same good feeling that i had in my dream. |

In Jungian psychology, this guy is called your "Shadow" or your "Animus." Yes, men get a woman like that as well... she is the "Anima." It's another right brain/left brain thing, where we all relate most to the side of the brain that matches our gender, and the other side is more hidden from us. This is more than a physical thing; it's also psychological. You can have both a negative and a positive Animus or Anima. Part of working with psychology and dreams is to change a negative to a positive. Much of Jungian psychology is based on getting to know that hidden Animus/Anima, in order to become a whole and individuated person. |

I'd say a tall dark stranger is a pretty common archetype for women to dream about. |
