      Stream of Consciousness in dreams!?

Wow! Lately I'm noticing with my vivid dreams that I have a definite stream of consciousness, so similar to the waking world. I haven't experienced this before in dreams. Before it was just action after action, but now I can actually hear my thoughts and it amazes me how convinced I am that I'm in the real world. It only makes the dream world more realistic, I feel like I'm actually in control of everything I do without being lucid. Is this completely normal? It seems big because the only experience I have with non-lucid dreams in the past is 'action, action, action.' and no thought. Like a film running all around me.

Hmm, would you mind clarifying this for me? Not sure if I follow.

Well, what I mean is that I think about what I'm doing and it feels like it's actually my decision. For example, I had a dream that I had dived underwater because a ship was coming towards me, and while I was underwater I was thinking to myself "What If I come up and the boat's still there? Or what if I hit my head on the bottom of it? Or what if my head is ripped to shreds by the propeller?!?!" In a normal dream I wouldn't have thought any of that to myself..I would have just went down and went back up. Maybe people dream in different ways and so this is normal for them.

Fantastic! That would make sense. Usually I fall asleep attempting WILD but I also do MILDs to increase my recall or try to get lucids. Most of the time though, I'm getting semi-lucids where I'll think to myself "This is a dream, so chances are if I believe the (seemingly weak) floor will break under my feet, It will." and then it does.
