What do you use to write your dreams down?

I've been deciding whether to use pen and paper, or using my laptop. Just started using my laptop again; seems like I can write a lot quicker typing and get more details, ideas, and events that happened in my dream down than when writing them. Plus it is quite more legible! Opinions?

Well, going through the motions of writing with a pen/pencil seems to cement memories into one's consiousness better. However, if you write faster on the computer/laptop (like I do) here's what I'd do (and actually it is what I've been doing lately). I write down my dreams in a document, keep them in a special folder on my laptop, and then I'll go back to them at a later time (sometimes later that day, sometimes up to a week later) and re-write them in an actual journal...with a pen. This helps me a ton, and sometimes I will remember more when I'm re-writing it in my journal, even after a week or more. So, my advice is to do both. It's helped me a lot! Actually, some of the stuff that's on my computer is like a transcription from a voice memo that I've made earlier in morning with details that I don't want to forget, so really I have three dream journals; one in the form of a collection of voice memos, another on my laptop, and another in my actual dream journal...it works pretty well for me.

I started writing them down in a paper journal up until 2006 when I stumbled across this site. Back then when I was a teen I'd write when I wake up, or after I had finished with homework in high school. I'm 23 now and sometimes still write in the paper journal in cursive and sometimes my dream journal. It even helps me get ideas for writing projects I'm working on, too.

I use my computer :)

Just advertise it a bit, Banhurt created a wonderful dream journalling program a while back. Great stuff.

I type them into the iPhone. Very handy. the phone is always with me and the notes can easily be transfered to the computer later.

I have a note book for a dream journal. I also sometimes just keep any piece of paper next to my bed so I can jot down keywords and write later. I wouldn't use a computer, unless you are not going to go back to sleep for the rest of the night. Computers have a way of waking us up.

I just keep a piece of paper beside my bed with a pencil for easy use.

I use my laptop and Banhurt's dreamjournal program. I recommend it...first sticky in the DJ forum.

iPhone! Pretty usefull since I don't have a laptop =) and I can finally read what I've wrote.

I just stick a pen and paper next to me. A computer would wake me up. Then the next day I try and decipher my atrocious hand writing and type it up in a word document hehe

i use dream journal 2.3 by banhurt.

I use a note book which is always on the night table.
The reason is because I can start writing immediately, so I put down more details.
But also cause it's fun to look at your own handwriting let's say a month later, and not remembering that you actually wrote that stuff down while the evidence is right in front of you. :holyshit: :upsidedown: :lmao:

I use the 'Notes' app on my iTouch and this forum.

When I wake up, I usually jot them down in a notebook, then I enter them on this website.

I use a USB voice recorder. Wake up, talk into the recorder, go back to sleep. Repeat

Then in the morning, to listen to it, I plug it into the computer or use headphones, and type the dreams into a word processor.
