Listening to music while sleeping?

I listen to music on my iPod while falling asleep often. I sleep with the music playing in my ears while asleep too. The cool thing about it is that sometimes the music is playing in my dream. One time I fell asleep listening to Radiohead, and then I had a dream that I was at a Radiohead concert. I listen to a lot of different and non-mainstream music, and when it comes on in my dreams, I think it's on the radio or something, and I'm like "OMG they're playing *blank* on the radio?!?!".

It's kind of like a movie with music in the background, but you're in the movie, and the music is playing to what you're doing.

Well, I thought when I saw the title of this thread that it was more like hearing music in your dreams.

I hear music in my dreams all the time, and being a musician, I want to play it when I wake up, But you know how it is... I never can remember exactly how it goes...

I have heard some awesome music in my dreams. And most of the time I am playing it on some wierd string instrument.

That's awesome, I fall asleep to music a lot sometimes too.
What you said about listening to more underground music and hearing it on the radio gave me a good idea - could this be used as some kind of reality check?

For example, if you heard a song on the radio that you were listening to that really would never be played on the radio, maybe that would make you think 'hang on...am I dreaming?'

Just an idea :)

This has happened to me multiple times also... I listen to music almost constantly and I also play the guitar and saxophone. All of times if I play before I sleep i will get an awesome tune or melody in a dream and i cant copy it in real life, but I have had dreams that have inspired to write a song or two.
