      Good symbolism.

So on Tuesday, my domestic partner / live-in girlfriend left to spend a couple months in Central America, leaving me quite lonely indeed. I know, two months isn't very long, but emotionally I found myself reacting as though she had died. In fact I cried so hard I hyperventilated and started getting dizzy at the wheel while driving home. I'm 26 and I've never hyperventilated in my life before. We're just really in love.

So it hit me pretty hard. That night, I had a dream which (after reading up on the symbolism associated with some of its basic elements) reflects my emotional state at the time perfectly. Here goes:

I am standing outside, at dusk, just after a "red sky at night" blood red sort of sunset. Lots of other people are around. We all say some kind of chant, or perform some kind of action, and then I look up. Three stars, in a perfect equilateral triangle, zoom across the sky from left to right. Then a couple seconds later, the moon zooms across the sky from right to left. They both seem to be gone forever.

After this occurs, there are maybe one or two flashes in the sky, and it becomes clear (like I and everybody else just suddenly know) that the entire earth had been poisoned with some sort of toxic chemical, and nothing would ever grow on it ever again, and we were all doomed to starve amidst the poison.

I also had the sense that this dream recurred three times that night. That is, in the dream described above, I had the sense that it had happened twice before, on two completely different planets, so that on the third one (which may in fact have been the only one), I knew what I was doing, and by taking part in that "chant" (or whatever action it was that caused the stars and moon to zoom by and whatever caused the earth to be poisoned) I was leading everyone else to their ultimate doom.

From what I've read about the number three, the apocalypse, the stars and the moon in dreams, I think this one fits very well with a long separation with (feeling almost like a death of) a loved one, specifically a girlfriend. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts. If not, that's cool, I just thought it was a dream worth sharing.

It really is. Thank you for sharing the dream, I enjoyed reading it. As for the interpretation, you already did that, and no stranger can tell you anything different. If your feeling about this dream's meaning is right, than that's the right interpretation.

      You're one crazy romantic.
Come on! What if Martin Luther King said: "I kinda have a dream... nah, I don't wanna talk about it."
