full body paralysis
I just dreamed that I couldn't move or talk. I was having a normal dream then suddenly found myself lying on a floor paralyzed. I struggled to move and talk and was terrified. Then I woke up and was so relieved. Maybe this dream was caused by me remembering sleep paralysis experiences.

That's happened to me a few times. You say you were on the floor... Ill bet you were in the same position you were sleeping in? I've had dreams where I start to feel my sleeping body and then Im stuck in whatever position I;m laying in, and I can feel the covers etc. And I can't move, or not very much. Usually it's right before I wake up, so I figure it's signals from the sleeping body starting to filter into the dream.

I had dreams where I was dreaming of sleep paralysis too. But except of being in my bed and being dragged down it I was in some random place and I wouldnt be able to move or talk......couldnt scream either. I would freak out so much I would cause myself to wake up screaming. I guess I am so afraid of it actually happening that I just dream of it hahaha.
Sleep paralysis is interesting though when you research it. Im sure you all already know this but we have like three chemicals going through our brains at the same time. One being the dont move chemical which causes us not to act out our dreams. And the other two being the sleep chemical and the awake chemical. Hence why we see the room as it was but we dream of odd things and it makes them seem so real.
Ive freaked out so much about sleep paralysis and Im working on getting over it but I do dream about it here and there. Kinda backwards if you ask me lol.
But maybe if we can understand it is just a dream when we are just dreaming about it we will be able to get over the real thing. Then we can open a new door to lucid dreaming :-D
Wow Im talking to much...bottom line is I know where your coming from lol.
Sweet Dreams!

I've had something similar, not sure if it's the same thing though. Occasionally I have had dreams about my body becoming unusable or not being able to control it, felt a lot like sleep paralysis. It would start out with me getting dizzy and feeling drunk, then having a hard time moving accompanied by swimming/spinning sensations in my head. Eventually I'd be lying on the ground stiff. In the dream it happened as a result of drugs, poisoning or illness (not in real life of course ;) just in the dream)
Does this sound similar to your own experience, or was yours just the paralysis alone?

Thanks for the comments. I see I'm not the only one who has experienced this. To Amoeba, I didn't experience something like that. My experience was just paralysis.

Amoeba- I have had recurring dreams just like you are describing. Like a feeling of Vertigo. Completely unable to control myself, with a tumbling feeling. When this is happening, in the dream, I am usually concerned about not wanting people to see me like that(usually my daughter). My mother has been in some of the dreams. The last one I had just the other night, and not only could I not control my movement or even keep my vision straight, but there was a dark figure there trying to suck my soul from my chest. At least that is what it felt like. I knew I was dreaming, and kept telling myself to just wake up. Very unsettling and scary.

I've had dreams similar to the one you've described where I feel paralyzed and have lost feeling in my body. I struggle to find my voice for awhile but I've been able to wake myself up before it got too intense.
My body naturally goes into sleep paralysis frequently before I go to bed, so maybe that does have something to do with the dreams we've experienced
