Question How to bring up a dream conversation with people?

How could you bring up dream conversations with people with out them thinking your mentally insane or crazy? I want to be able to bring up a conversation with someone about dreams when ever I have to go to a group thing but I don't want people thinking I'm crazy. How would you bring up the conversation?

Ask them to tell you about THEIR dreams. Honestly, very few people in this world are sincerely interested in hearing about other people's dreams. Dreams are incredibly personal and it's normal that they only have meaning and make sense to us. We might think a dream makes for a good story, but the other person is falling asleep and completely disinterested as you tell the story of your dream.

Oh...but people love to talk about their dreams! They will talk about their dreams all day if there is someone to listen. So honestly...unless you tell them you had a dream with them in it (because everyone loves to hear dreams that they were a character in, it's really the only time you can get people interested in hearing about your dream)...stick to asking them about their dreams.

Eventually...after you listen to their dreams and become interested and ask questions...they will get the idea and start to show interest in your dreams in reciprocation.

Try it. This is the only method I've found to work for me on a consistent basis. But I also tend to avoid talking about dreams with people unless I KNOW they are interested. Nothing is worse than trying to tell someone a dream...and then they just lose interest halfway through and you can tell their mind wanders and they just sit there looking off into space and nodding and going "uh huh". That's when you know its time to shut up.

yeah exactly, you can easily tell when someone is disinterested, i usually will only tell a friend a dream if its 1 on 1, if i have more then 1 friend present, its usually harder to talk about because not everyone wants to hear about your dreams.. but like you said ask them about their dreams and listen to what they have to say, its really cool to have a friend that you can talk and share too about your dreams.. especially when your so big into, you can help even interpret their dreams for them, or even help them out..

Yeah I'd like to share someone with my dreams. But you know how paranoid people can get. If you tell the wrong person then they try to get you help. Its really unfair. They think your mental or something if you tell them what happened in the dream. If I told someone who doesn't care like a really grouchy and grumpy person. Then they'd try to put me in counseling. I had a few glares that happened before.

What? I have never ever heard of that happening. Maybe your dreams are really violent or something?

The most I've noticed is that people are disinterested. I don't think anyone is going to try to put you away for sharing your dreams. You're paranoid lol...or you're not telling us the full story. Oh, and I live in Ohio too.

Cool that makes both of us. Yay for Ohioans. Yeah my dreams aren't violent. They are just weird lol. Yeah I can get paranoid sometimes too I'll just wait until someone brings up the subject or ask someone if they like dreaming.
