I am sick & tired of my dreams.

The only dreams I have are this.

1. I dream in random situations that I am with highschool friends

2. I dream in random situations that I am with some random girl who is probably my "girlfriend", but she is all over me, while I am just sitting there. I never go for her, she always goes for me - But nearing the end of the dream, she either disappears and I end up trying to find her which ends up with me waking up. The girl in the dream is always different, no girl I've seen before ever, just random.

3. I dream about having a dog, but these stopped once I finally got a dog.

I am sick of the first 2, I dream about highschool friends that I know I couldn't stand half the time, why is my mind wanting to go back that far to people I KNOW I don't want to really spend time with now? A lot of my highschool friends were just that, highschool friends, most of them I do not see anymore and I don't even want to see.

My main problem is, when I dream 1 and 2, I end up sleeping for like 15 hours straight. I can't see to dream and be awake at a normal time.

I am on holidays now and that I am sleeping in these dreams are starting again...when I am waking up at 7-8am I do not ever dream, but it's now that I am waking up at 11-12 that I am started to have these dreams.

You could try some method of dream incubation, if you like. I like the VILD induction technique because, even if it fails, I sometimes end up dreaming about whatever I was trying to create in the first place. :) Or, during the day, think about the dream scene you want to experience. Daydream about it. Keep it in your mind whenever possible. It will be far more likely to show up in your dreams.

I go through spurts where my dreams are dull and mundane (ie. I'm at work; I'm just going from place but never really doing anything), but after a while they change and become more interesting. It sounds like this has been going on for a while, but perhaps your spurt is just taking longer to get through.

I agree with Mario in that perhaps you can find something to focus on during the day that you want to dream about. Remind yourself of what you want to dream about at least several times each day and see what happens.

I used to have dreams where I just lived my life. The most notable one was where I made myself lunch and sat in the lounge watching television. I must have had that dream about 3 to 4 times. :P

Yeah, sometimes your dreams will just be uneventful and boring.
Go with the incubation technique! What I used to do a while back was, a few hours before I went to sleep, I would write down a vivid description of a dream scenario I wanted. I listed all the characters, events, locations, etc.

I don't think I ever had a spot on version of what I wrote down, but the characters and locations I described would pop up in random dreams. It's certainly worth a try! ;)
