Exclamation Crazy Experience - Halfway Lucid?

I haven't tried to induce a Lucid Dream for almost 6 months, and I left Dreamviews until yesterday. I'm trying to start over because I hadn't successfully induced a completely Lucid Dream when I was here last time. Last night I had a weird experience.

I'm trying to master my Dream Recall before I get to Lucid Dreaming, and during one of my REM cycles at about 6 A.M. I had a crazy dream. I was in some sort of park, and there was this huge slide coming from the Moon. After going down the slide for a few times, I instantly decided to become lucid, in the dream. I thought I was lucid in the dream, but now that I think about it, it was the dream who thought it was lucid. It was like the dream me was lucid, but I really wasn't lucid. It's really hard to explain, but if someone could help me find out what happened, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

This happens pretty commonly. I've had many dreams where I've made the declaration that I'm dreaming, but never actually become conscious of my Dream. Its really the difference between the "Ego" and the "Id." Its only a Lucid Dream if you (Ego) know you're dreaming, but it is possible that your dream self/character/representation (Id) states it without you (Ego) actually becoming aware of this fact.

Sometimes many behaviors are automatic. We dream & do not really get to the awakening part in the dream (and sometimes only for a short time), and then go back to "normal" dreaming

Keep going - & you'll get there. Early morning seems like a great time for me to usually have a lucid dream.

Sometimes I feel like being on automatic pilot in the dream. I continue to view the weird things around me in the dream, but never really think anything odd about what is going on around me.

Only when I wake up to remember my dream - and kick myself for blowing the chance to get lucid.

good luck, hope you get there soon.
