      Well this is pretty pathetic.

I've been trying REALLY hard the last couple nights to get the idiot inside my brain to remember my dreams for me, but he won't. Not really. Maybe when I wake up in the middle of the night groping for my cellphone to shut off the damnably annoying alarm I'll have some foggy picture of some sort of idea, but by the time I start thinking of writing it down, it starts to seem more like something I just thought of, not something I was dreaming about.

I figured if I wanted to convince my brain that it was important for me to remember my dreams, I could start writing all of these washy fragments down, even if they weren't actually part of any dream.

I had the distinct impression that I was doing that throughout the remainder of the night.

Except I wasn't. When I woke up for realsies, the pad of paper on my bedside bookshelf was empty.

So I guess I sort of recalled a dream. It was just a totally boring dream of me writing down what I thought I was dreaming about. :s

      Ben

P.S. I thought I saw a "Dream Recall" forum somewhere, or at some point I was linked to one. Thought this should go there, but I can't find it any more. Than again, I'm really tired x3

False awakening, huh? And that's why I ALWAYS do reality checks when I wake up.

Actually, you missed a very good chance to become lucid! You had whats called a false awakening! You should start making it a habit of doing a reality check whenever you wake up!

As for your recall, the best peice of advice is just to practice, practice, practice. You're not used to remember details of dreams when you wake up, so it will take some time to build that habit.
